Dear HCW Friends,

We decided to post this here as well for prayers.

As some of you know Raymondjc and his wife's baby girl has arrived and is very premature. He is asking for good thoughts and prayers please.



Update as of 7/23/08

Dear Friends,

Thank you all so much for everything you have done, sent, all the coupons, prayers, cards, Gift cards and boxes to Raymondjc. I had not heard from him until yesterday 7/22/08. In a note he expressed thanks for everything you all have done. Baby Arlene is doing better but still hospitalized. Raymond and his wife were staying up at the hospital until now , but he had to go back to work and in fact overtime and taking a second job to help with everything. So time has been very limited and he couldn't get a hold of me until now.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you all have done. My heart thoughts and appreciation go out to you all. Sorry it has taken me so long to update but needed to hear from him. I told him we are all still praying and thinking of him and understand that his family is his first priority.

Here is an update:

Raymond and Krystle's baby was born 14 weeks premature. She is 1 pound 15 oz. and holding her own at this point. Everything is touch and go right now and they really appreciate the prayers , good thoughts and offers of help. Since I know some are watching this thread, and Buggys thread in trades I am posting a small needs list here as well as will maintain a trade list for him. I have permission to maintain the list . If you can help please pm and will get the information to you. of where to send. At this time they don't have paypal but will probably work on it. Time is very limited right now. They have other children as well as animals so the list is below.

Thank you so much. She is still thriving and holding her own. It is touch and go right now. I just want to say thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. You have really touched us. Yes it is fine to give out my addy and if u want to maintain a list for me that is awesome. We can always use gas cards. At this time we dont have paypal. Here is a small list of things we use. I only get 10 minutes at a time on the computer so I have to be quick.

RaymondJC wrote this to me today and wanted you all to know:
The baby is doing well. She is up to 2 lbs 2 oz. But they said if she loses not to worry that it will bounce up and down. She is now over her jaundice. I just hope she gets to come home soon.

I cant post a pic of her yet as they dont want us taking pics in the NICU. I will try to keep you updated as much as possible. Hopefully they will let us know if there's any coupons for baby stuff they need. Sometimes some of that preemie stuff can be expensive, so if they can post a list, maybe between us all we can get it filled. I know I still get baby coupons in the mail even though my buggers are long past the baby stage.

Thanks so much HCM I know they were looking for Gerber Graduates for their 2 yr old as well as Diaper coupons ( pampers ) before the baby came so they could stock up. Their 2 yr and other kids love any kind of yogurt. I have his addy as I send him ROAKS of baby coupons. Thanks so much . I will ask him when he writes again to get a list for us if there are some coupons he needs.

Having "been there, done that" I am an experienced NICU mom. My third spent 25 days in and my last at 2.4lbs spent 45 days there. If they need a sounding board, I certainly understand all the ups and downs. Two things that I can think of may be gas cards and phone cards. You spend an awful lot of time at the hospital, so calling folks is important. Not to mention the gas to get back and forth.

Also meals can be costly at the hospital. It adds up when you eat there 2-3 times a day. Does the hospital have meal tickets that can be purchased? Meanwhile things at home are going downhill because you're gone so much. Hopefully they have some family around that can help out there some.

It can be very exhausting and it sounds like they'll be there for 2-3 months or so. I hope everything goes well and they will just be feeder/growers.
