It feels good to help

Man I have tears in my eyes right now! I just packed a care package for a lady that is a single mom of a 4 year old that lost everything in a fire.

In the past I would have been sad but felt like there was nothing I could really do, I can't donate $$.

But now I can do something - she got a new place and has nothing. Now she won't have to shop for HB or household cleaners etc for a while. Package includes:
laundry soap/fab softener/fab sheets/bleach/shout
dish soap/sponges/hand soap
ziploc bags/aluminum foil
windex/multi purpose cleaner/mildew cleaner/scrubbing bubbles/toillet cleaner
toothbrushes/toothpaste/mouthwash
razors/shave cream
deodorant
bar soap/bath wash/scrubbie/shampoo/conditioner
bandaids/q-tips

This what I had a fairly decent stockpile on. It won't affect me at all to give this stuff to her and I hope it will help her alot.

Thanks for all of the help here. It is because of this site that I am able to help out someone in need and pay it forward.

Yeah for you! I did the same thing when a family at my son's school had a fire last year - it feels great being able to help a family in need.

as somebody that has been through a fire....trust me that stuff WILL be used and I can guarantee she is very grateful!

it's incredibly overwhelming in those first few days trying to rebuild....it may not seem like alot to you...but to her...well....you've just given her a reason to smile again..

I do donate all the glucose monitors I get for free. That's a start, I guess.

That's me, I'm new to the stockpiling, but I LOVE knowing that in the near future, I will be able to do some fairly nice donations!

In one day the people that I work with have donated to her the following (not including what I did)
A sofabed, love seat, 2 chairs and coffee table and end tables for living room, 2 Beds and a dresser for the bedrooms, 2 tv’s, a vacuum cleaner, kitchen table set, microwave, toaster oven, dishes, pots/pans, desk, clothes, toys, a bike, linens

This is amazing. She only needs to work on moving forward now – she does not have to worry about how she is gonna ‘live’ now. I am so happy we were able to do this for her so quickly.

Way to go!!! That's really what this is all about. While couponing and saving money for your own family is great, being able to help others is a true bonus. People don't realize how much all that household stuff adds up if you have to go out and buy it all in one trip. You could spend $300-$500 just in one trip and never even buy food by the time you buy ziploc bags, laundry detergent, trash bags, cleaners, shampoo, etc.

This was really wonderful of you to do!!! You should be extremely proud of yourself!
