Post Office Food Drive today

Mods...I can't post in RAOK. I am new so dont know why. In NH, so I assume it is around the county, the mail carriers are collecting food and health and beauty products today. They can be left by the mailbox for your mail carrier. So I thought it may help for people that need space and help your local food bank/pantry. Leave a bag or a box and they will takeit away! Thanks for reading

I put four bags out this morning. What a great cause! Wish they'd do it monthly. It is so much easier this way (leaving it by the mailbox) then bringing it myself, especially with an infant.

DH had a bag already out by the box before I even woke up this morning!

ours came last Saturday and it was great to clean out the cabinets. I was a little surprised to get a thank you note from the mail carrier, but no receipt of any kind for taxes?

I think I was the only one on the street that did this. I wouldnt have known about it except for reading about it here on HCW. Was it publicized in any way?

I would like to thank all of you that donated to this great cause. Our food pantry was lucky enough to receive all the donations from a certain zip code in our area. We received lots and lots of donations. This should serve our pantry for about a month without having to go to our local food bank to buy food. It's getting more and more difficult to get food free or cheap. Many people have lost their jobs and are in desperate need now. This food drive helps many people nationwide. We are a great group of families on this board and share all year long. I congratulate all who donate regularly and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We had mail carriers on the news daily back two weeks ago. I put my items out Friday night, just so I wouldn't forget. I usually forget because I oversleep or I leave home and the mail is delivered while I am out.

While out shopping last weekend, I was shocked to see so many people participated this year. I really believe it was because of the mail carriers being on the news so much. I went to the post office on Monday and there were people with bags of food then, too. I guess those were the ones who forgot. It went over well locally.

we got a plastic bag with our mail as a reminder...I put out a box and taped the bag to the box LOL

no thank you note from the post office tho...LOL

We were the only family on our carrier's route who participated in this drive. My oldest was outside when he came by & picked it up. Our carrier said thanks for donating & thats when I found out we were the only ones.
