71 days!!!! Waiting on LTD to be *approved*

DH had rotator cuff repair surgery in May. He had no std but we had funds to get us through the first 90 days. He qualified for ltd disability on August 21. So we are due 10 weeks of benefits!

Guess what? The idiots still are requesting the SAME medical records they got week one!!!!!!! He also had a minor hand procedure last month that had NOTHING to do his shoulder ltd claim but now the insurance company is all over that wanting medical records from that procedure!!!!!

I have emailed every single person we have been in contact with since the middle of August. Apparently the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing as I get a different story each and every time I call. I have sent multi faxes to both our local rep and the idiot rep in Maryland.

We can't afford to hire an attorney to take 1/3 of what is due to DH. I am blessed to have my cousin as my landlord and she knows we will pay our rent when the checks start but I have had to cash out 2 life insurance policies and borrow off of mine to get us this far. Not sure what to do at this point because to our knowledge the idiot rep has everything, except what DH had for breakfast!!!!!

PLUS his doctor refused to release him today so he is out of work for another 30 days!

Oh how I wished he had claimed WC but honestly he could not pin point the exact day his shoulder got hurt, and it would have likely been okay wiht rest but his jackbutt company kept him working over 6 weeks 55 hrs a week until his surgery (he worked until 10:30pm the night before his surgery in May!!!). And he does HVAC work so he can't just jump back on ladders and climb under house with no strength in his shoulder or he would have went back weeks ago due to our house walls closing in on him and the depression setting in!

Well, I don't have a lot of advice...but it does kind of sound like they are giving you the run around. I wonder if your husband's HR person could get further than you with them? Maybe look for the company on FB, twitter or online. Posting complaints on social media can sometimes get results because companies don't want you telling everybody you've ever known how awful your experience with them has been!

Contact the companies benefits department-they should be able to get things straightened out ASAP. If your DH's company does not have a benefits deparment go directly to the HR Manager-they should be able to get everything worked out. Good luck!

Thanks Ladies! I will call her today. Unforunately they are a tiny company (less than 15 employees ) and none of them at the company has any experience in filing any type of claim such as this. I am going to call my local *benefits* person this morning and request a detailed activity report on this claim from day 1.

I can't go to social media right now as I work for an insurance comapny as well (home and auto, NOT life or health) and my activity is monitered by my home office.

Contact a disability lawyer. Get a free consult and see what they say....Insurance companies suck, I'm so sorry they are doing this to you

I hope this is resolved sooner rather than later. My DH was a STD after an injury from repetitive use at work. He was back at work, after 6 weeks off, before we received any pay from the claim.
