Default What is up with the swipers?

What are those things called..where you swipe your card to pay at the register...

I used to use cash only till my DH lost $100 (TWICE) in two months...we found it later in his pants we washed...

But, back to topic...they ask 100 million questions...esp. at Sears...good grief....

    Do you want money back?
Do you want this all on this card?

What color is your shirt? (well not really)...

Sorry takes too long to check out with the "fast" method anymore.

    lol
I think they 1) ask for zip codes to prevent from fraud and 2) ask if you want the whole purchase on the one card as many people split transactions these days (i.e. gift card/cash/credit card/debit card/etc)

I have only been ask two things like do I want cash beck and my pin number..now at gas stations they have started to ask the zip code but I figure that is for my protection..

I dont feel two or three question it that bad to try to keep fraud down.

Okay - they don't always ask 'Are you sure' but it is that annoying!

OMG! I found one like that. It was somehow connected to Fred Meyer but it wasn't near a Fred Meyer. Normally I get my gas at Costco but the pumps were not open that day. I really needed gas and we were in the middle of a wind and rain storm. So there I was at an unfamiliar pump, trying like mad to get some gas and I had to keep answering all the questions. Gah!
