Something to do with the government but I don't know what.

I was asked that at the doctors office last week and it said on the form it was for the government. I asked the doctor about it (after I brought up the fact they weren't following the hipa law) and he said he didn't know anything about it and that his office staff purposely doesn't tell him certain things because it just ticks him off.

In our school district, we have to re-register for school every year. Thank goodness, a lot of the paperwork just needs to be looked at and signed that there are no changes. But I don't get why we have to re-register for our children to attend the same school! When I was in school, your parents were just supposed to report changes whenever they might happen such as new address or phone number. And if you move, you withdraw from school and register somewhere else. But you didn't have to register each year for the same school.

I work at a preschool and we have 9 different types funding spots. One certain type of spot requires probably 4 times the paperwork than the others. And it's not an income based only spot. I mean like we have several cases where siblings are enrolled and one is this type and the other isn't. I have read through the "extra" forms before and I would be mortified to be asked to fill them out myself so I feel terrible having to give the parents the paperwork and it's a constant thing. At least once a week there's a new packet of paperwork to fill out. One time there was a form that states whether you are a "low risk" "medium risk" or "high risk" family. At risk for what? It didn't say. And noone could be NO risk. 0-10 points was low risk so even the best family ever was at risk for something... not sure what!? But it was questions like "Have you ever at some point in your life had food stamps?" and "Have you ever seen a therapist for any reason?" Well in my opinion those questions are so broad that they don't mean anything now. Who cares if you were on food stamps 10 years ago and now you have a 3 year old? I was "high risk" because I'm not married and have kids and because we qualify for medicaid. Ummm sorry but I know I'm a wonderful parent and that form just drove me crazy because it was flat out unnecessary and demeaning.
