Now Im 24 just a few months off not having to pay for the young insurance surcharge when I call car rental places... Oh well. I want to rent a mustang for finacee's birthday, I found some coupon codes and it will be fun driving around on the weekend as his last hoorah before the babies come. His last 3 birthday since turning 21 ( 21 was in basic training, 22 was in training to go to Iraq, 23 was in Iraq), so now on his 24th I want him to be able to have some FUN!
Anywho, I call up Budget Rent A Car, and instantly this guy is cutting me off when I am trying to give him the details of my trip. He asks me if I am 25 or older I say no, he says then you can't rent that car. I tell him I've done this before and has the policy changed, he said there would be a surcharge. I told him this is ok I'll pay it and he said NO I want give it to you... SOOO I say thank you I'll just with another service, then he SCREAMS WAIT...
He says ok fine but I want get the 23.97 a day rate I have to pay 27.87... I tell him that is also fine... he grumbles something I ignore it. I politely ask his name and id number he says I may not ask that... So I ask for the total for the 3 days... He says and I QUOTE
Can you not multiply 3 by 27?... How am I suppose to know if that includes taxes, the surcharge or other fees????
I then say I want to speak to customer service because the way he is treating me is wrong... he transferred me to another state for their moving trucks... With no way of knowing his name * I forgot from the beginning of the call * and no Id number there was no point in calling back to talk to customer service....

Was this a local office? If so, I would call and ask to speak to a manager/customer service directly. I would let them know of the situation and then tell them the day/time that you called. If it's a local office, I would think that they would be able to figure out who the person was.
