So sick and tired of RUDE Wallyworld CASHIERS!

2 Different Walmarts, 25 Minutes Apart , and I End up with the Rude cashiers both stops.
Cashier #1 , upon seeing my (8) $3 Q's for Gumout , calls a CSM and says I have never seen a coupon like this before, I don't think it is real. So I how do I take it off her Order? Before I can object the Csm starts cracking up. Thats a Smartsource coupon and they are available on our website.So Finish ringing her up.
Then we get to the Razor coupons. , Um ma'am you can't use this coupon on these Razors.
Oh do I have the wrong ones?
No it will make them free so , I can't let you do that.
Not only do you not have a choice, but you have to accept it if it is the right product even it if provides overage.
So she calls ANOTHER CSM. Who overrides her again.
She finally finishes Ringing me up and Im owed $6.02 , Apparently the Gum out was only $.99 not $1.99 like I thought.
She tried to make me add to my order, so I refused because I was getting angry at this point. It took 5 minutes for a CSM to arrive and push her out the way to get me $6.02.

Today at Walmart I get Cashier #2
I am Price Matching Scotch Magic tape, and using Q's for $1 making $.50 overage each. I buy 25. Cashier refuses to Price match. Tape is not the same color as the Target ad. Um they come in 6 Colors but the sku is the same. CSM Is called and tells her to PM and asks to see a coupon. I hand it over and she picks up one of the tapes and inspects it. Says well they match, so accept them.
Cashier PM one tape then walks away to talk to a CSM again. Comes back with a CSM and has to be told again to price match. Time to scan the coupons. I had over 25 Q's. Cashier scans one and it goes through. None of the other ones will go through , they scan then give a see Journal report. Csm is called again, tells her to Manually key in the discount. Cashier does 4 of them, then walks off to ask if she can just enter $20 Discount. She is told no and comes back and starts entering them 1 by 1.

We get to the End and Iam owed $10.40 by her count, I have the count at $11.40. I argue with her over a coupon not being scanned and finally just said Ill have CS correct it later. I have a Gift card ready to load the overage on to, I want to use it at Neighborhood Market for Meat. She calls a CSM Again, argues I shouldnt be allowed overage, is told to pay me NOW. She forgets to have them key in the code. So she grabs the CSM Again. I put the GC back, and think screw it.
Now here is where Im sure I went red in the face. After she has the receipt printed and the cash drawer open and the money out, she starts typing on the register. CSM request pops up on screen and the light starts BLINKING! The transaction was over? WTH? Within Seconds APPROVED pops up on the screen, and the cashier turned white! I think the manager was watching what happened and she realized it when he approved everything so quick.
But seriously the transaction was done, there was no reason to call for help. to top it off she did leave off a coupon and I was in a rush and didnt go back to get fix it. Thats the 3rd time it has happened. A month ago a cashier I pissed off failed to scan $10 in coupons. I complained and they counted her Coupon bag, and refunded me the overpayment. Yes on that one I paid more than I should have.

I try really hard to create as much overage as I can to help offset stuff there are no coupons for. I have 4 computers in our house set up for printing coupons. Im tired of being treated like a thief because I coupon. I'm usually polite, and anything Im not sure on I check at the beginning of the transaction.

I ended up going to target and getting a case of the Scotch magic tape, and using the overage to get school shoes for the kids. OOP $2.64 for 6 pairs of shoes and some odds and ends. Ive got a 17 gallon Tub full of school supplies I got free with couponing to donate. Bic Pens, Sharpies, Post it notes, Tape, Scissors, Glue Sticks. All thanks to printable coupons. The Donation center is gonna love me!

Yeah, Walmart is kinda hit and miss. Do you shop these stores regularly? If you are able to find a cashier who is well trained with coupons maybe you can get into a routine of shopping on the days/hours that person works. Even though there is a fair amount of turnover, if you can find a cashier that knows their stuff, building a relationship will save you lots of grief and you won't have a CSM showing up every minute.

Who knows, with all your savings, you might convert the cashier to a HCW addict!

I have never had a problem with Walmart but then again I have never bought 25 of anything.

I wonder if people tried flying under the radar, would we couponers be treated better?

Oh!,I can relate with you.I went to Walmart Monday, counted all my coupons 3 times to make sure they matched everything I was buying,then went in line,and the cashier,had a nasty look on her face,and I thought this is going to be fun(Not!) as one of the items I had was Ice Cream,she made I commit under her breath,so I called her out!!,I said what did you say?!!!!!
She said I said these darn couponers, so I just let it be,she starts ringing all the coupons,gets to the ones that are Old Spice BOGO,and starts having a hissie fit!! calls over CMS,mine you my Ice Cream is melting by now,CMS,tells her they do ring up right and makes her ring them up,and the cashier is still saying things under her breath,but I can hear her,so I say to the cashier,Miss I have never!!! been treated this bad at any store I have ever shopped at,and I think you need to say your sorry to me for being so rude,well she wouldnt and didnt even LQQK up at me,so I said to the CMS, I think you need to have your cashier say shes sorry to me,so the CMS made her say sorry,but I knew the lady cashier didnt mean it, bye the way she said it.Anyways got my thing and on the drive home thought,maybe I should go each time to that same lady to get her use to couponersI wont be treated like that bye anyone,Im paying for a service too!!!! I would have lost my job at work,if I had done that. What has happen to respect the customer???? nuf said.

I agree with the bolded. I know according to the new policy they're supposed to give overage & such, but sometimes it gets pushed to the extreme.

OP it might be more trips into the store, but I'd start splitting your overage coupons into smaller transactions. I think there would be less attention to the fact that you're getting overage. Also try finding a young boy cashier-I get less hassle from them regarding couponing.

I am just about ready to give up couponing and i have been doing it for years but lately i have had nothing but trouble out of cashiers at WM and BI-LO. I get nervous everytime i shop now :(

I never try to get the overage in cash for a reason. Also in general if management is dealing with the cashier I tend to be very satisfied. When I have to deal with management not "getting it" is when I get ticked off.

I try to roll my overage on a gift card,,,,normally. Every once in a while - I will cut it too close.

Some how I got 1.12 the other day.

Before I could even add on a soda the cashier had pressed the button to give me the money. I was shocked.

Then she handed me a copied card with her name written in - when I read it - it was a request to vote for her when I complete my survery.

Walmart never ceases to amaze me!

n fact I complained so much on my main store - I got a huge gc.
Sometimes I let stuff go and sometimes I fight.
Just depends on what it is.

i thought it was walmarts policy not to give cash back overage? big red flag when you dont buy other items to cover it.

Also target up here doesnt give overage on anything. i would love to get some school supplies free. The extra trip isnt worth it to me for a few extra cents off, especially when they dont give overage.
