Sneaky Coupon User & Car Seats

I have two seperate rants this weekend..

My first one would be at Walmart when I was in the self check out lane. There was a lady in front of me purchasing a 24pk of sprite. She was acting very sneaky and pulled out some little peice of paper and scanned it and it took $3 off. I then asked her casually where she got the q and all the sudden she didn't speak english. Now there was something up wth that and this is why it's so hard to use legit q's everywhere now!

Now what really got me this weekend.. I was over at a friend's house and she had one of her other friend's over. My friend always tries to help this girl since she has 4 kids under 4 and claims to be short on cash. The friend ( her name is Erin) wanted me to see her new car which was a new Tahoe. It was a very nice SUV with leather interior, Video for the kids etc..

I noticed she only had 2 car seats in the car and she had all 4 kids there so it was probably none of my business to ask what about the other two older kids ( 3& 4) but I did and she replied that "car seats are expensive, They are like $100 each!" I told her I would check some garage sales and If I could find one I'd pick them up for her ( keep in mind my money is super tight too) but this is for the children's saftey! Then the girl's friend that was also with told me that "You don't wan't to get a USED CAR SEAT!"

Once again maybe none of my business but If you can afford a NICE SUV for yourself, you can afford car seats for your children and if I was that broke that I couldn't I would glady accept a used one if that's what it took to keep my child safe!

ugh. honestly i couldnt let the kids go without a car seat. thats rediculous. thats liek not wearing a used pair of boots because youre too good for it, so you walk in the snow. retarded.

Seriously....... I wish I could be a cop who could drive around and arrest idiots like that for child endangerment. That makes me so mad when I see something like that, not even thinking about the piss poor attitude of having a newer car and not being able to afford car seats. Ticket, heck no, I consider that child endangerment. I commend you for thinking about the children and offering to look for car seats for the kids.

My daughter picked up a brand-new-looking Chicco car seat at a garage sale for 10 bucks. All the parts that are fabric can be removed and washed and the plastic can be wiped down with a mild bleach solution.

Even a used, stained up car seat is better than no seat at all.

Yes at the self check out you can...When I walking out to my car I saw her putting the sprite in her car and going back into the store. I just hate that I use perfectly legit coupons for the exact size, qty etc that are never expired and I go in and always buy reasonable qty of everything unlike these shelf clearers and my q's get examined up and down and then once they can't find any reason not to take them they do!

I was at CVS the other day buying 2 Lumene lotions using perfectly legit $4 coupons and the cashier tried to tell me they weren't valid on trial products... The eye cream didn't say anything about being a trial size and I told him well I will buy the "regular" or a "bigger" size if he showed me where they were at. He ended up taking the q because that was the REGULAR size 15 minutes later.

here in washington state..any child under 7 or 70 punds MUST be in carseat..or ticket..and if you see someone with child in car NOT in seat..can call and give liscense plate number and they get sent warning first time in mial..second time..ticket!!

Buying a used carseat is unsafe because you do not know if the seat was in an accident. Once a carseat is in an accident it needs to be replaced, so to buy one from a garage sale with no idea of the seat's history could be putting your child in just as much danger as no seat at all.

All kids need to be in a carseat until at least the state's requirements are met, and there are seats out there that do not cost $100 each.
