HOT Just cause I'm plus size doesn't mean I wear Winnie the pooh

Really the title says it all.

I was at walmart in Arkansas...stuck in a icky storm..so I had some time to kill. And decided to check out the clothing, to see if they had a better selection then my local Walmart. Background: I live in a really rural area...and my other local stores to shop clothing at our Walgreens, Family dollar and Dollar General ....oh and don't forget Orschelns. The Farm store . My walmart is a little bit smaller..so the selection is not that good.

Anywho...I first started through the section that was not plus size. Size 4 thru 14. They looked really nice. Modern, nice cuts, nice fabric, nice designs, And funny... no stupid cartoons or fluffy crap all over the shirts.

    I get to plus size

    Why???

Why is it that my choices are tank tops ...which I don't wear, religion issues..and I wouldn't look good in anyways. Shirts with flowery crap all over them. Or shirts with Cartoon Characters on them. Why in the Hell do they have shirts for grown woman with Eeyore and Sponge Bob. Do they think that because I'm over weight I have some deep desire to wear shirts with unicorns all over them . Must I have a shirt that have a flower that is larger then any flower that is in my garden??. And why must I wear flowers. My husband likes basketball...yet somehow he manages to not wear basketballs all over his shirts every day .

They do have a rack of nice Danskin Shirts. If I was a size 16 I would fit in those shirts. I am not a size 16. They either do not have my size, or the one shirt they ordered in my size is no longer there. And I checked each shirt in that line..and my size was gone in each of those wracks.

I decided to do an unscientific poll..that was meaningless and meant nothing..but since it was still raining monsoon rain outside..I walked around the walmart and counted about 160 woman...young and old, skinny and fat and not one of them was wearing a cartoon character of any kind on their shirt. My unscientific poll makes me think that woman in general do not want to wear characters of any kind on their clothing. Yes their might be one in a great while that wants to...but that would not justify filling an entire store with that kind of selection, and if your going to cover the plus size with that garbage, then fill the regular size with it as well.

    So agree!

I did trade for those all you mag $5 coupons and got the $5 plain for round and vneck shirts.
I put iron on glitter transfers on then for nice custom gifts.

I put skulls and roses on them. Someone I know loves rockabilly, punk clothes. Planning on making some destroyed shirts/the ones that have the slits in the arms, the ones that you ad a tank strap too
    I used 2048 q's FEB 2011 because of SFShopper ,,,offline,,,,,alot!

Punkified shirts wouldn't of bothered me...at least the selection wouldn't of reminded me of being in the toddler area of walmart.

I may not choose to put a skull and bones on me but I don't find them super cheesy or immature.

And some flowery patterns can be nice (I still wouldn't buy them)...but what is found at wallyworld right now are ginormous size patterns and soooo ugly!!!. Covering up 1/2 the shirt with some big glittery flower...u g l y !

I agree it's harder for me to find clothes I really like. Either they are too hip for me (think teenagers here) or too old looking. The only store here I like the clothes at is Steinmart but they are pricey. I only buy LEI jeans at WM on black friday.

I so know what you mean. I have no desire to wear Tinkerbell anything.

Walmart sometimes have other types of shirts, but they are usually horizontal stripes - NOT cute. I don't buy their shirts at all simply because they are rags after only a couple washes. It is hard to find just a simple cute tshirt - if you buy a regular tshirt in whatever XX size you are, the sleeves are past your elbows.

I am pretty surprised that Woman Within, for example, still sells 100% polyester pants and those awful flowered rayon tent shirts. They look like someone came out of a Weight Watchers meeting in 1978.

Some plus sized clothing lines carry lots of tops that have sheer sleeves, or sleeves so short, they may as well have been sleeveless. Hello! Most plus sized women don't have arms they want to show off! Another problem I have are shirts that are too short. I really hate that. I, unfortunately, carry my excess excess weight in my tummy. I'm also not a short person. I need to cover the tummy area, not feel like I'm wearing a cropped shirt! I guess that's why the majority of my closet is a variety of colorful tanks with coordinating sweaters.

I know what you mean! I get so frustrated trying to buy grown-up clothes in the plus size section. I usually just end up buying solids when I can find a good sale. I do have one Minnie Mouse shirt and one Marvel Comics female heroes shirt, that I bought specifically for certain events.
