rude manager said couponers have no life

I was just in Pathmark doing my 2nd trip for the triple coupon promo with my DH's card as i was packing my items the manager was talking to my cashier saying how this promotion was the worst that Pathmark ever did and that "these people that coupon need to get a life" Its not right that they are getting all this stuff for 1 or 2 dollars.

Normally i would stay quite but this one i couldnt let go. I asked him if my $3 oop was high enough for him and i find the comment insulting (as II pulled my binder and placed it on the belt. I asked him if the money that I am saving is coming out of his pocket? After he told me no I told him well the money that I am spending comes out of mine and anything within the rules that I can save money I will. As far as not having a life I work 50 hours a week then come home and take care of my DH and 2 kids, clean the house and cook dinner every night. So the few hours I spend a day with my coupons actually is worth it and is part of my non paying job of wife, mother and homemaker.

Sounds like you did a good job of putting him in his place...I would have added that I was going to call the regional manager or corporate. It was extremely unprofessional for him to be even saying that in the first place...regardless of who was at the register (couponer or non-couponer)

sounds like he is watching a little too much TLC and is taking it personally.

I'm glad you didn't keep quiet. That boy should not be a mgr with that unprofessional attitude. Even if he said it in private to the cashier, he has no right to "gossip" or complain to one of his employees - that is still unprofessional.

I'm so glad you spoke up. I seriously think managers and cashiers dislike couponers because it means a little extra work for them.
