    Default Pets and Stupid parenting...

So, first I would just like to say...I'm like 17 weeks pregnant today and I feel the anger hormones just brewing...so forgive me...

    First up....Pets.

Why can't they make a NON-pooing version....just sayin' (personal peeve with our own dog right now LOL).
Also, I'm SO SICK of going to Lowes, or Home Depot to fix the house up that people bring their friggin' pets! My kids wanted to pick out some flowers, I encourage this every spring and fall to pick out something....just our tradition...But, not just these itty bitty puppies or furballs no bigger then your hand that are called puppies. But, I mean a stinkin' PIT BULL, German Shepard, and whatever that other dog was. I e-mailed before and they said no they shouldn't be there... but, they never do anything....and they don't sell our siding caps and other stuff at Home Depot. There is absolutely no reason (aside from a seeing eye-dog) to bring a big ole' dog to the 2x4 wood section!

This is the Stupid parenting thing...

Read the whole thing.....before you say I'm nuts or whatever....

We took kids to Chick-fil-a last night to eat. They were on the playground (inside). The ONLY lady in the playroom with the 15 or so kids there. ( She was browsing the internet...don't ask I didn't mean to look.) My 1 1/2 year old started screaming in the slide somewhere. I peered up the slide to see what the big deal was...Well a 3ish/4ish old girl was there, she came down in a dress with NO underwear on!

Conversation as follows with the computer lady...

Me: Whoops! That was a sight to see!
    Lady: Huh?
Me: *laugh a little* I think a little one did a strip tease up there and forgot to put her underwear back on.
    Lady: ....................
Me: Well, I guess I'll have to ask her where her mommy is so she can help her fix this.
Lady: ....Oh, that just my daughter...*return to computer*
Me: *gradually leaves to tell hubby to clean up we are leaving*
    Lady: *still browsing*
Me: Tell the kids to get shoes but, refrains from saying "don't look at the lady while you are getting your shoes (she was sitting on the shoe cubby thing), cause I'm afraid this is a mother like daughter thing."

I tell the attendant in the restaurant, a older guy about 65/70. He turned bright white from shock. LOL. Then he told the manager, we left, but, GROSS!

It is one thing if you know if she is a "stripper" like my toddlers, and she immediately did something about it. Kids will be kids. But, I keep thinking. Wonder if she would fix it if I would have said something different to make her think I was a pervert. But, I doubt it.

I would get in trouble if anybody could see my panties in a dress. What has this world come to? I have thought of all different reasons that little girl wouldn't have undies....but none of them end up with a mother allowing her to play on the playground, and exposing herself to who knows what perverts are watching.

There I feel better, done venting.

I personally don't think you're crazy...I agree on both counts...but things are mighty different now opposed to when I was young...I would have been tore up from the floor up if I did that kind of thing when I was young...but that's a taboo subject now too (discipline). ;)

    1. I don't have a pet because I already clean up enough poo around my house.

    2. Agreed. I could tell you horror stories of what goes on in HD LOL

    3. blech. We BTDT except it was a kid barfing (respiratory in nature not stomach flu in nature) and parents left it there and still let her play in there. Did I mention that was the last time my oldest got to play in a "play land". I had to go mention to Mcdonalds folk that there was some fun barf in the play land. blech

Did I mention the McDonalds experience of a little boy whizzing in the corner while mom chatted on the cell phone......

dh likes to take the kids to mcdonalds playlands...i prefer not to go. someone is always throwing up or peeing or throwing their food. there are never kids like mine there or a mom like me standing and watching everything. parents are inside mcdonalds eating or talking with friends with their backs to the playland.

and i agree with the no panties issue. i would lean on this not being sanitary. just like it would be for an adult. i would not sit in a chair where someone who was wearing a skirt and nothign else was sitting....it is one thing to sit on a toilet after someone but i know i have the option of putting down a seat cover...it is gross to sit "in that "after it gets up.

and people dont bring dogs to my house. i dont allow it and they are told to keep them outside. my mom kept bringing her two dogs to my sisters. sister said they peed on the floor and my mom wouldnt clean it up. sorry, the dog goes outside and she is told not to bring them back no matter what. there is a business called "dog boarder"....amazingly you can pay them to care for your dog. and they are ususally extremely nice and have a big open area for them to run.

Oh, I didn't mean that somebody's dog was messing up our house. We are moving to a new house in about 20 days...and the backyard is smaller (in city) so, there is no where for the dog to uh....you know...there would be enough room if we had older kids that didn't play in the yard. But, we have two children esp. the littlest that walk without shoes, even AFTER they go out with shoes, they pull their shoes off in 2 minutes or less. At least it is "spread" out a bit more here. Not sure what to do as taking dog on walk 3-4 times a day is out of the question with 5 kids...and I know our habits cleaning up the mess...is always on the back burner. Just racking our brains on how to let the dog out...thinking an invisable fence on the side yard is the best idea yet. Or giving the dog to my MIL who is about ready to loose her 15 yr old dog due to cancer. At least until we figure out a permenant solution.

But, I meant that I can't stand people bringing their big dogs into stores (unless it is a pet store). They make me uncomfortable....I even get leary around seeing eye dogs. I admire seeing eye dogs just the size gets to me. Shoot I don't like them in the cart, as they always put the little dogs in the "baby/toddler" seat. And their paws/fur/mouth go all over the place. Not to say a human baby is clean, but it wasn't meant for an animal. I just don't understand people compulsion to take a dog into a store. Was there some emergency that needed a canines perspective on roof shingles? I 100% KNOW I'm the minority in that...but, I guess I'm old fashioned. Dogs belong at home and they are a pet not a kid. And store managers should respect that esp. when it is a county wide rule here. No animals in non-pet stores.

I'm totally agreeing with everything said. We were leaving a store today, as a lady carried her terrier type dog in with her. The dog was on a leash, but c'mon... what is she going to do with it if she's in the fitting room???

Would it be okay for me to bring my cats with me everywhere?? I don't think so. I'm not going to expose them to whatever other people have and if someone is allergic to the dander, then what??

    just my two cents...

and the mcdonald's thing.... ewwwwwwwwww !!

I saw someone bring a small dog into Staples once and I said something to the manager (not sure if he was the "big" manager or just an "on duty" type shift manager - doesn't really matter) - he just kind of shrugged, like "oh well" so I told DH I was going to take our 70 lb dog there one day when the same guy was working and DARE him to kick me out - lol! I love dogs and we had 3 until last year (2 of them passed away so we only have 1 now) but I would never dream of taking them in a store except a pet store. We rarely even took them there b/c I don't like freaking people out, like OP, who are nervous around larger sized dogs.

And, as far as playplaces - I once saw a kid poop in the one at CFA - she had on a pull-up and I guess it just came out while she was climbing. DS was about 5 at the time and he goes "mommy, there's something on here, what is it?" I looked and immediately started yelling "GET OUT! GET OUT!" Ugh! It was so disgusting. We didn't go back there for ages. Then another time I got totally skeeved out by this 30 something man climbing up in there with the kids. I couldn't tell if he was with any certain kids and, honestly, I didn't stick around to find out. Again, I pulled DS out and we left. I can understand having to go get a "stuck" kid - I've had to do that before in our climbing structure at work. But that was clearly not the case, this guy was playing and laughing. I told the people that work there about both things when they happened and they were very receptive and helpful but if DS wants to play, I can take him to work with me when he's out of school - lol!
