Well, I'm one of those that sometimes brings my (60-lb, part Dutch Shepherd--somewhat related to German Shepherd) dog into home improvement stores. I tell you, though, she is NOT allowed to rush at people. She's not even allowed to pull towards them. Same rule applies wherever...at school, park, Petsmart, whatever. She has to let the person approach her first (and even then, if she pulls, she gets put in a sit). She's actually gotten quite well-behaved with the exposure. I'm sorry it bothers some people, but I won't let her near you unless you ask or VERY clearly start moving toward her.I know not everyone is that strict with their dogs, though.
Now, taking dogs into Walmart, grocery stores, etc....no way on that. And if my dog peed on ANYTHING in public....I would correct her, move very quickly to clean it up, and then go crawl in a hole with her!![]()
