Seriously need advice about mother in law!

I will try my best not to make this too too long.

My husband asked me Wednesday if I wanted a 1 in 55 chance of winning an iPad2, I said sure! Those are much better odds than typical games or contests. A local car company is giving away an iPad2. All you have to do is make a video on why you think you deserve an iPad2 and post it on their wall. The person with the most likes wins! So, I was first. THen someone else posted but hasn't gotten over 11 votes, poor thing. I think she gave up early in the game. I went and posted on my wall asking ALL my Facebook friends to like my video. THEN the drama happened! My mother-in-law posts a video! Am I the only one that thinks that is rude? Fine, I got over that. Whatever. BUT in the video she talks about how she really needs the iPad2 to keep up with her grandkids. Now am I in NO way exaggerating here-she may technically be a grandmother to 8 but she does NOT act like it! Want an example? Here ya go- She has three kids, My hubby and I and our 3 children live in Florida. One of her daughters and her two children live just an hour south of us here in Florida. Her other daughter lives about 15 minutes away with the last 3 grandchildren so they are local. So for Christmas hubby's parents drive 4-5 hours to get here to Florida to drop off Christmas presents to sister in law that lives south of us. This is how they tell her they were coming- They called her when she was out shopping, to tell her she should take the babies home for a nap-then there they were on her doorstep! RUDE! They stay an hour! NO JOKE! They take the interstate back home and we literally live 3 minutes from an exit off there. THEY drive right by us. They never called us to see our babies! She expected me to see a pic of her in Florida that she posted on Facebook and wanted me to call her! So, they go right back home! They don't care about her Florida grandkids one iota! And honestly really doesn't care for 2 out of the 3 grandkids she has living by her! She only cares for one and that was the first one! She will move mountains to do whatever she can do to please the FIRST grandchild! Makes me SO mad!!! Anyway, back to the point she then starts stalking other FB pages and posting her link all over the place (isn't that spamming?) Anyway, my husband calls his dad and jokingly asks for his moms Facebook password and then tells her that he'll give her $200 if she took down her video. I think that's a decent offer, but she declined. LOL This morning she posts on my hubby's FB page and on her own FB page, how my husband tried to paid her off and get her password, HE WAS JOKING! Geez! My husband is trying to grow a business how here and FB is a BIG part of that, we don't need CHEATER anywhere on there! She then goes on to say that I'm cheating by adding lots of friends just to get votes. WRONG! I was on TV the other day about couponing and my FB page and blog got tons of hits! I friended everyone that liked my page! UGH!

I feel like I'm a kid. I feel this is SO immature! I don't know what to do! Hubby wants me to delete my video and just cut ties with them all together. LORD knows I have tried time and time again to have a 'REAL' relationship with them. But it just never seems to happen. I call to chat and she just gossips about everyone else. I know she just gossips about me later on! I don't want to delete my video, I don't want her to think I've given up. I am just constantly a few votes behind her so I know I can win it if I try. I don't know what to do. It's not that I NEED the iPad2. Really who NEEDS one anyway? LOL

Advice? Suggestions? Comments? Does anyone out there have a 'real' relationship with their in-laws? If so I am jealous!

i would delete her post on your wall.

i would then limit her ability to see things posted on your wall (i believe you can filter her)

i would leave my video up

and then i wouldnt let the rest worry me. some people are just like this.

and then i would go post your "vote for me" in the vote for me section of the forums, get it approved and let us all vote for you.!!

Well I’m not a shy one, so if it were my MIL I’d flat out tell her I think she is being a dope…. I just saw her last message to you under the video and if she were my MIL I’d tell her to piss off after that one… But that is me, please don’t necessarily take it as advice unless you want to open a bigger can of worms w/ her - she sounds like a real peach….
