Just remember, her family are victims too, and are in denial...and if she does have psyciatric problems, they may not have seen it coming.

I agree with you to a point, unless they were aware of an abusive situation taking place, and did nothing to help the child. If that is the case then they are complicit in this child's death. We have a responsibility to the children around us to speak up in their defense when we see obvious abuse or neglect. I'm sure this is not the first time that child suffered injury by the hand that should have laid it's life down for him......sickening!
I'm getting weary of hearing stories like these in the news lately. It seems like there is one or two of these cases a year. I'm not sure why or if there is an increase. Maybe I am more aware of it now that I have my own child. I am worn down this week hearing the graphic details these children suffer.
This week in RI we are faced with the early release of a serial killer that preys upon small children. Micheal Woodmansee sexually abused, killed, ATE and then dismembered and shellacked the bones of 5 year old Jason Forman back in '75. He is slated for release in August with time off for good behavior...this predator is only 52 years old and will kill again. As the mother of a nearly 5 year old I am terrified. Woman and children's lives hold no value in our society.....

I am afraid for my children. I have stopped watching the news because I was to the point that every story would depress me. I don't want to believe that there are people in this world who would do these kinds of things to children although I know there are. Every time my mother calls me, she tells me another story about a child she saw on the news. There is such a thing as being careful and trying to care for the safety of your children and I do that. I just try not to find something else I need to worry over.

I honestly do not understand why if you wished you had missed the story on the news why you would want to rehash it over and over.....

Because I think its so bad that I just cant forget about it. I have 4 year old twins so I guess thats why I dont understand why or how a mom could do such a cruel thing to a mear baby! and I just want to cry for I know that the child was put threw this and it truly gets to me. Seeing my babies run, play, and laugh I just cant stand knowing that there are people out there that thinks of doing this to a little one, I know they are out there but like someone else said seeing it on the news makes it to real for me. I dont watch the news much only the 10pm for the weather and not every night. That was one night

Your so right..now this women will get free food and ect for life pretty much..I hate to know that some of tax dollars go to this kind of stuff.

A mother here in our area just left her 6 month old in her car all day while at work-and of course the child died from the heat. While not exactly intentional, this woman did kill her child. She works for the small newspaper and they have the put donation requests all over the front page, which really kinda ticks me off. People lose babies to disease and illness and don't get help from the public burying their child, but because you were negligent, you think the public should help you pay for a funeral? Again, I just don't know how you can do that to a child!

I have stopped watching the national news...except if something major happens like the tsunami. i do not watch nancy grace anymore because of this. i am not in denial, but at some point the negative needs to go and you need to bring positive in.
