I don't know how this could even have entered the minds of these kids, but we've has several animal/pet shootings here in the last couple of years. This one just takes the grand prize for awful, IMHO.

Three teenagers apparently went on a 6 hour shooting spree at a local cat rescue facility. 12 cats were killed or had to be euthanized because of their injuries, and others were injured. This organization is run by a friend of a friend, so I've been reading about it on Facebook all day. I am utterly disgusted that people in my community are defending these kids because, to quote some of the posters I've seen today, "boys will be boys." They need a harsh punishment for this!

It takes a very sick person to harm an animal, and I hope that the judge sees things differently than the posters you mentioned. (I chose not to read the story because I think it might bother me)

Tell ya what, my dogs drive me to the point sometimes where I start considering that they might be posessed, but nothing in the world could make me want to hurt them - that would be sick.

They are defending these boys? How very very sad for people to be defending these sick individuals. And they are obviously old enough to know what they are doing is wrong! They need to rot in jail! GAH!

I also couldn't read/watch the story. It would upset me too much. As for the poster who said boys will be boys, what a crock. I have 2 boys and neither one has ever or would ever think of hurting a defenseless animal. I believe he meant serial killers will be serial killers. Because we all know that is how the majority of serial killers start out, hurting innocent animals.

I agree with PP. I couldn't read the story, then I'd just be sick and fuming all night long. I don't even want to know how these kids got like this. And 'Boys will be boys' is not any sort of valid excuse. So help me, if it were one of my kids ( but it wouldn't be. ) I sure as h-e-double hockey sticks wouldn't defend them. Throw them to the wolves as far as I'm concerned!

yup. i am sure this will only be the start of their criminal career. i would be ashamed if this was my son. of course that would come after i sold his car, all his guns, his hunting gear, his phone, and everything else he owned and gave him big baggy tshirts with pretty cat pictures on them to wear and tanned his hide.
