Tax on FREE items?

I think I figured it out!

They were both store coupons, one for diapers and one for wipes. The diaper q rang up no problem but the wipe q wouldn't, so the manager just came and took off the amount and looking at the receipt it says "manu coup". That's probably why there is tax.

I still have to pay the total tax on free items here..most coupons for free items do sya you pay the tax on them in some form of wording
