I think you are exactly right. I think we are in for harder times ahead. I know from my own personal experience that alot of those people who lost jobs in the past while have been lucky to find a job at much much less pay. My DH is now making 1/4-1/3 of what he used too.... no I don't mean that his pay was cut by that much I mean that he is actually bringing home 1/4-1/3 of what he used to. Talk about a hard pill to swallow.

And I can also tell you that the cost of electric, gas heating, and water which are necessary household expenses have skyrocketed not to mention gasoline for the car. It is all we can do now to pay our grocery bill and living expenses let alone anything extra like doctor bills, etc... We are currently caught in a juggling act if you know what I mean.
Please Help me save on the things I need here!
if you can say a prayer for my family!

They use the credit card for the points...I even pointed out while we were at RA that using a credit card you WILL spend more than if you used cash, but they just don't seem to care. And if you knew them you would understand how bizarre that is because he is so cheap about anything that HE doesn't think is worth the money (like his kids birthdays presents). Maybe he thinks he only spends the % more which is what he gets back in the end (NOT!)...

I don't know, I am so on the fence, I would love to get a bigger freezer and more shelves...but then part of me thinks really do you really need more? Is it really going to get THAT bad?

I wouldn't think it odd for someone who doesn't like to spend money on presents to stockpile NECESSITIES, such as food and HBA items. If things do occur like he thinks, then it's most important to have those things you need for basic survival. Better to be safe than sorry.

What you highlighted was referring to the sentence before it, not the fact he is stockpiling...the fact they have no budget to do it-just spending whatever ON WHATEVER...not necessities, not money makers and not trying to spend before store rewards expire. It is like this mad dash to get it all in before New Years.

If the trend continues with the debt rising & spending isn't cut & they continue to print more money...prices have nowhere to go, but up. And it could get very bad.

It's better to be prepared cause once it hits, there's no time to prepare. However, I also cannot constitute hoarding for the future while people are currently going hungry. I'm seeking deals on foods with long shelf life, absolutely. But I will NOT rent storage space for Libby's veggies...my line is drawn.

Seriously, my Bible tells me super inflation will happen & I believe it. I don't need Glenn Beck to confirm it. But I still think he's haaawwwt!

Are you designing your very own god...
or is God designing His very own you?

Well, maybe they're just trying to spend before the DOLLAR expires.
