We could have literally been written up if we were caught being asked for a ticket. It's very easy to add dessert-we didn't need the other ticket. Many people have a budget, so they want to know how much their ticket is before they go adding anything else. Then we just pulled it up on the computer, added whatever, and a new ticket printed. We'd leave the new one and take the old and throw it away.

One demanding person like this one could cost us our job. So worth the buck.
I think bringing the ticket when the get their food is like telling them you are ready for them to leave. I never bring the ticket until after i take their plates away unless they ask for it sooner. People go out to eat to enjoy themselves not to be basically pushed out the door. I don't know that just seems like that restaurant doesn't seem like they care about their customers enjoying themselves.

The troll in this thread has been banned. We gave her/him the benefit of the doubt for a while there but it is obvious that this person has no intention to add value to the site at large but just wishes to discuss eating out in the HUTC forum.

    Sorry it took so long....

I used to waitress in my teens and it was hard, never dreamed when I was refilling those ice tea glasses I could be ticking people off. I had people go through 7-8 refills in the summer, more than half the glass was ice. Couldn't imagine getting a new glass each time but I would if the customer requested it. Only advice I got is speak up and let the waitress know exactly what you want and how you want it served. I had no problem with customers who requested things different just let me know instead of sitting there steaming and leaving me a crappy tip. I had some of the strangest requests but as long as they asked me I had no problems doing it to their liking.

I'm sitting here wondering why she couldn't have just taken a sip of her refilled tea & added sugar appropriately. What's the biggie? Maybe she counted the granules? LOL
