I want you to know that I called/emailed your consumer relations representative today.

This is America, and you have every right to freedom of speech. I'm not even going to argue that what you said is hate speech and promotes the persecution of an entire group of people.

My argument is that you should not be sending such bigoted forwards (which most of the time aren't even true!) from your work email.

I mean, you work for an oil company. Many of your franchise owners are immigrants from other countries. Is this how you want to represent your company?

I hope you get written up.

people do not understand that forwarding these silly emails from their work email represents that company they work for badly. where i use to work, a few would do this regularly and it just made them look stupid. i got to the point that i just marked their messages as spam and then i never had to look at them.

i applaud you for reporting them to their company. most companies now can back track all of one person's messages for a time period and see everything they sent out.

I knew a secretary at our company that was about 7 months from retirement...she sent out an email of an eBay ad depicting a man who took a picture of his dining room table. In the reflection of the mirrored wall you could see that the man was 100% in the buff. Someone got offended & since she sent it to fellow employees...using Company email - she was terminated immediately. No questions asked.

Gotta be careful and use some common sense on mass-mailings! Morons!

I would NOT have been offended by the Ebay man. I would have just thought it was funny. Too bad that lady got terminated. Some people are way more sensitive about that kind of stuff.

I personally did not receive the email, but someone who did showed it to me, which is how I know. It was actually fairly funny lol. But SO not work appropriate.

I did work in a place once where sending nude pics in emails wouldn't have been that inappropriate. But strictly work related, mind you.
