The media coverage will make that lovely couple outcasts in the neighborhood - deservedly so. Unfortunately their kids will likely get caught in the crossfire.

And let's not forget the little girl. For every hateful @#*)@! like her neighbors, there are thousands more people who restore a little bit of faith in humanity.

I'm not sure how much legal stuff can be used. Harassment maybe...for a family who lets face it doesn't have time to deal with. I'd love if the police could find a way to nabb her on that horrible FB picture...hope FB has kicked her off as well.

Free speech. The girl's family already has a restraining order against the classy neighbors, so there's that.
MI has no laws against cyberbullying, which is the only thing I can think of that could be a legal avenue. Maybe DMCA if the Petkov's didn't take the photos they 'shopped, but that's not criminal in the sense that the police would come arrest her.

There are consequences to the whole free speech thing, though, and this family is learning about those firsthand.

And there have been negative repercussions for the Petkovs: the husband, Scott, may lose his job and the Petkovs' son was sent home from school for fighting after another boy confronted him about his family's behavior.

So the husband may be out of work - affecting the entire family and their stability. It'll be hard for him to get a new job with all the publicity, too; if you were an employer in these economic times, would you want to have a liability like that working for you? The parents' horrible actions are affecting their children at school, and now those poor kids are going to have issues for the rest of their time in that school district.

The community as a whole seems to be taking care of that poor little girl, and also reinforcing acceptable behavior to the trashy neighbors. That makes me feel pretty good.

Wow. Just wow.

Because someone didn't answer a text fast enough two years ago? After you invited yourself to their party? These people are monsters...and they have WAY too much time to plan ways to torment other people. And to the one devil's advocate who I'm sure will pop up and disagree with the term monster - yes, they ARE. It takes a LOT of forethought to paint your truck, procure a coffin, photoshop stuff onto FB...if you can actually plan and gleefully carry out actions to torture other people emotionally, you're a monster. Then to be so stupid with no regret at all to answer, Oh yeah, I did it to be a vicious bully (my words)...you're a monster.

Either these people are cripplingly immature and without morals of any kind or are mild sociopaths.

I'm going to be thankful for my neighbors, as we all keep to ourselves.

Oh sure. Can you imagine what he would do to his coworkers if they irritated him? Or if he was reprimanded? Maybe if something didn't happen fast enough for him...
