How much for High School lunch?

No he was not spending his money else where, he is tight with money..His dad is a big oh story teller so I am pretty sure my son is telling the truth over what his dad tells me..as I said there is alot more going on in his dad house than I said in the first post Hints the story telling..

Yes I asked him and he says it cost him around $4 each day, $1.90 basic lunch then drink $1 and then most extra's cost $1 after the basic lunch is bought. so thats $3.90 a day..

I called today and they said about the same thing he told me.

So like a PP said, $1.90 X 5 = $9.50 if he is getting a drink and extras then that is why it would cost more, but $9.50 covers the regular meal.

Cynthiabutterfly - The $1.90 is for the basic lunch - they type they are required to serve, which admittedly, many times does not look appetizing.

Her son does not buy that lunch.

Like most high school students:

"He likes to get pizza (2 if he can) and a drink or a sandwich such as BBQ, burger, or chicken and chips."

Lunch at my school is so expensive! This is just an overview of how much MY lunch costs....

Sandwich (turkey or ham with cheese and lettuce) $2
Cheeseburger $2
Chicken Sandwich $2
Panini $2
Cookies (2) $0.60
French Fries $1.30
Carton of milk $0.35
Bottled water $1.25
Juice $1.25
Pizza $2
Bag of chips (Frito baked only!) $1 (and they are the little bag!)
Granola bars $0.35
Fruit cups with cheese/ yogurt and fruit $3
Slushies (teeny-tiny cups) $1.25
Wraps (cheese, turkey, ham, lettuce, tomatoes, or onions and your choice of ranch, mayo and some other things) $2

This is what my lunch on an average day looks like
Chicken sandwich/ cheeseburger/sandwich $2
Bag of chips $1
Milk $0.35

So... $3.35 a day times 5 days a week = $16.75
Keeping in mind that I am MUCH smaller that your son and don't need to eat as much. This is enough food for me, but this is probably just an appetizer for him!! What my ma does for me is, she can go online and adds money to my account at school. Then when I go to buy my lunch, I enter my student number (much like how you enter your pin when you use a credit card) and it pulls up my account and the charge me for what I bought. Wow bunnynugget - they really get you on the chips, slush and water but everything else looks pretty reasonable to me.

I never like the basic lunch stuff either so I am not going to make him eat it if I dont have to....so looks like I will be paying around $3/$4 a day..

His dad would not have wantted to eat green bean/corn/peas/ and meatloaf or salbury pattie with gravy..and then on box of milk that a teen would drink in one drink..LOL thats what the $1.90 basic meal looks like, 2 vegys one meat and a box of milk...

I started this post for the school was closed and I wantted a ideal of what the cost would be..
