If you think about it...bug guts has protien that babies are not able to digest well.........

Good grief it would of made my son poo pure blood.

I'd make sure similac knows what it did to your kid.

I'm so glad I don't have a baby right now! Scary stuff. But like a pp said, call your ped-they usually have some samples and may give you some to help out.

But I'd call first thing cuz i'm sure other moms will be calling too!

it is sooooooooooooo hard to get through their phone lines. there must be thousands of people trying to call at one time

I hope we can just turn in the tubs of Similac at the store who knows we buy there often and hopefully, they'll take care of it. I may have to recall tubs I've already given away to make sure they're not fed to babies

I don't have kids and at the moment I'm glad I don't! but the first thing I'd do is call the store where I got it from and see if they'll take it back....all they can do is say no and more than likely they will take it back.....

Suggestion for an alternative... Target's formula was what we transitioned to straight from Similac, DD didn't have any problems with the transition at all.

I hope everyone gets it straightened out soon. How frustrating. Thankfully we haven't had to deal with formula in 3 years.
Oops... sorry - you exceeded the limit of my attention span!

Bye Mom... I love you, and will miss ya. 4/5/11

It is scary when you have a child who cannot have other formula

FYI the nutramigen AA lipil...I have a friend whose daughter is on it...and it's not as completely smelly disgusting as neocate or elecare.
Good to know. We tried the Elecare first, and he wasn't a fan, but I keep some on hand anyway, because it would be better than recalled formula and fine in an emergency. We haven't tried the Lipil, simply because he does okay (but not great) on the Neocate.

I am going to be sending my recalled container back to Abbott. I would love to get a check for the recalled formula in 4 - 6 weeks. I do this with my taxes as well. If I get a rebate (which I have always gotten...) I always wait to the last minute so it comes to me in the summer time ish and is always a cool surprise when it comes! I love waiting for rebate checks! It is always a surprise worth waiting for. :)

BTW, the packets are really convenient to use. They are very simple. My daughter will be off formula by the time I get the rebate check. Hopefully it will be a check and not a "check for buying more Similac" that we get back. But if it is, so be it... :)
