Meems, I'm not a lefty other than by comparison to the hard right (or more specifically, right here), and I don't doubt he's smart and funny. I just view him as an entertainer and am puzzled by the number of people who take an entertainer's schtick so seriously. I mean, I've been a devoted Prince fan for nearly 30 years; he entertains me immensely, but I have no desire to go all Jehovah's Witness or to start worrying about chemtrails just because Prince makes it sound so scary, and I doubt that would change if he started rallying huge numbers of people to share these beliefs.

I think of Glenn Beck as the hard right's Jon Stewart except that I think most Jon Stewart fans recognize his status as entertainer. I'm not bothered by the fact that Beck had a rally, though, not even the date he chose, but then I'm also not bothered by the planned Muslim community center in NY. I support equal rights for everyone. Everyone. Not just heterosexual white Christian men. Anybody want to start that thread? Heh.

For sure, Beck is funny when I watch with the sound off. His show is usually on one of the televisions when I'm at the gym. I'm usually plugged into my iPod, so I don't hear him, but I notice that he is quite the animated speaker and as such I find him entertaining, too.

Lori, you likely won't hear me gushing about Obama anytime soon. I'm just about over him, too.

You'd have to watch my beck sucking relatives...who literally think what that man spews is gospel...I'm not kidding. You know it's true...cause Glen Beck said it . They literally (for my family as we are the same religion) don't think Glen Beck... would lie to them because they are of the same faith ...or stir the pot on purpose to make money off of them.

and what is super scary is they have forgotten that common sense in them...that would recognize that he's full of it...or jeez even some ethics that some of what he promotes is scary/illegal/unethical/treading on waters we shouldn't tread on...just because in his crazy head he thinks it's "right".

He also REALLY has mixed up the constitution with capitalism. Last time I checked...there is nothing in the constitution with capitalism. Not saying capitalism is bad at all...but it's not in the constitution.

Anyone besides me LIKE Glenn Beck? He makes me laugh and I do think he's right about some things.
I am college educated and have enough sense to take things that most people say and determine what I think is true and not true.

He is ok. I prefer Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly.

I have to admit to admit I'm a bit surprised. Most libertarians I know can't stand ANY of the political talking heads.

Especially ones like Hannity.

I don't do cable news anymore...give me headlines & then I'm outtta there, I like talk radio, but mainly like the entertainers over the more serious ones, Mark Levin..I do LOL at him, especially when he's calling names, it's great in that 6th grader sorta way...
