Default Rite Aid coupons for $25 GC to transfer BACK

I received a letter from Rite Aid a few months ago in it stating they are sorry I transferred my Rx out and here are 2 coupons to transfer them back. I didn't use them, so they sent me 2 more. I guess they really want me and atleast 2 of my 3 rx back...The first set of coupons was set to expire 8/31 and the second 10/31...

So I take 2 of my Rx back to RA and this morning I go to pick them up. I give the nice cashier my 2 GC coupons. She pulls out the 2 gift cards and then the Pharmacist asks what she is doing and then asks to see MY Rx. She hands them to him and he punches them in the puter. Then he says no she can't use them because they say "not good on Rx previously transfered and filled" or something close to that. I said then why did they mail these to me encouraging me to use them? What does "You transferred your prescription, but we are committed to getting you back for good." mean?

The Pharmacist then decides he is just going to walk out of the pharmacy area, maybe he had to go to the bathroom, I don't know, but to just walk away? You know, he wasn't even talking to me, he was talking to the cashier making her be the bad guy....

I was really upset. I could have used these coupons at CVS and gotten $75 in gift cards where I shop every week anyway!

I was really angry...Of course I came home and got out the letter and called Rite Aid...Lets hope they give me the gift cards if not it seems as though this is classic BAIT AND SWITCH!!!

I had this SAME thing happen to me with Rite Aid a couple of years ago. And I was only trying to get one gift card with a transferred prescription. They refused to give me a gift card because I had filled prescriptions there "in the past". Then they gave me someone else's meds by mistake! Fortunately I noticed that it was wrong before I left the store, but can you imagine if I walked off with them or went home and gave the wrong meds to my DH? I was so upset about that I never went back. I did go and fill out a survey online about the experience, but apparently it didn't do much good.

RA is not very user friendly with their Rx coupons. I have had similiar run-ins and pretty much avoid them now and take my Rx's elsewhere and use their coupons as competitor coupons.

Well, when I called RA they said that I should have gotten the 2 GC and that the Pharmacist was wrong. She was going to Pass this along to upper managment and hopefully they call me back.

Yep. I had the same thing happen to me not too long ago, and, in fact, they were so incredibly rude about it that I haven't been to Rite Aid since. I'm just starting to think about going again since some recent deals have seemed worth the hassle. Hope they fix the problem for you!

Well calling worked, I got a phone call yesterday telling me to pick up my gift cards totalling $50...
However I let the nice pharmacist that called know that the other one is a jerk and I don't want to deal with him again.

HOWEVER what ticked me off is since I had called and only complained about not getting the gift card, I then turned around and emailed them letting them know that it wasn't just about the money, it was also about the condensending way that the Pharmacist handled it...I got an email back telling me that since I had already contacted CS about the money they considered the case closed. I replied telling them that the Pharmacist needed some CS skills and it isn't always about money....I didn't get a reply.

I got my $50 and can't wait to transfer them out-even though RA is 5 miles closer and a lot easier to go to.

I don't think they should have not given you a gift card. To me the wording is if you had already transferred the prescription and had if filled before, then transferred it out kwim? Anyways i can understand them trying to cut down on people trying to work the system by transferring prescriptions back and forth to all DS to get giftcards and make money off it.
