Our housekeeper/maid is totally worth it. We budget her in and couponing helps with the expense. Best decision we made after moving here was to hire her! She comes every other week and does the bathrooms, floors, dusting and kitchen. (I do every day stuff-dishes, laundry). But I have 2 girls two and under, horrible dust allergies, a not so great back (scoliosis) and I hate cleaning. Having a housekeeper was one of the many things my husband introduced me to and I agreed it was a well-worth the money.
Oh no, I totally sympathize. Our housekeeper threw away a bunch of Pampers points. I was saving the bags to enter when I had time- they were neatly organized in the diaper area, but I guess they looked like trash to her.
I have learned to get better about entering them before she comes or at least putting them in a drawer. Our housekeeper comes on Fridays, so on Thurs. nights I check to make sure everything is up and then Fri. just put up any toys my youngest got out and my makeup.
Heidi- where do you live? I want to hire your DD. Around here you can't get a babysitter for under $10 a hour and they don't pick up a single toy or dish. So when we get home, we have to clean up any messes made while we were gone.
I am in Wyoming, a bit far from TNI am sure I am getting the family discount.
Well actually I put an ad in the paper for the $7 an hour gig and got quite a few responses and interviewed quite a few people. But in the end my DD wanted the job and she knows my house and her brothers and sisters and it has worked out OK for us. If I had hired someone else I am sure the house would be cleaner but we are not total pigs and just doing cleaning on the fly works for us. Its more how I would clean house, notice something is dirty and clean it.
Plus I tend to be stranger nurotic when it comes to my kids. There were some nice folks that I interviewed but there were some weird ones too. My favorite interview was a 21 year old guy, who lived in out of town (and when I mean out of town I mean it would have been an hours drive to come to work, which did not seem worth it for $7 an hour) and when I asked him if he had a anything criminal in his background he said "only something for domestic violence" and then went on to tell me about his baby mama and all their drama.....I was like SERIOUSLY like I am going to leave my kids with that nut job! LOL

Sorry about your coups!
When I go full time we're getting a maid. Even if my boyfriend doesn't know it. He can think I'm the one doing all the cleaning! lol It's nice to have someone do the deep cleaning so I don't have to mess with it.
