Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
I would ask each set of parents to please keep an eye out for it. Not accuse any of them directly, but just that it has come up missing since the sleepover and maybe it "fell" into one of thier backpacks or something. I wouldn't allow them back in my house, either. Thieves are not tolerated in our house.

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
I agree with doing it tactfully, say something like, I was just wondering if "so n so" could have picked it up by mistake, or maybe it got put with her things....without outwardly accusing them. Since you are unsure which one it was. I wouldnt let them back over either, at least until you find out for sure who did it.

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
None of them had bags no toothbrush nothing they just had the clothes they were wearing... my DD said but mommy where would they put it because 2 of them were wearing shorts with no pockets, I told her that if they wanted something that bad they would find a place to put it. I still can't believe they/she would do something like that, my baby got that ipod 2yrs ago and she deserved it and she bought about more than half of the songs on it with B-day money, money she got from watching my brothers dog or helping my mom out or from us when we had extra cash
I will be calling the parents tomorrow.

D. I am so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for you. This is not right and I would not stop until I had it back in my hands if I were you. Definitely call the parents. I hope they have morals and do the right thing.
Please pray for my family.
Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers. She lost her Father on 2/19/2012.

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
What a bummer! Yucky situation.
Are the songs backed up on a computer? Then you would atleast have the songs.
My niece had just told me that my new ipod had something hers didn't. I told her 'Go update it on your computer and you'll probably get it'.
she said "Oh, I haven't done that in a long time"...
I told her to back it up all the time...then songs are saved and apples updates are downloaded.
I guess I'm showing my age here, saying 'back it up' instead of 'syncing'.
Did you hear the one about the guy who named his ipod 'the titanic'?
So when he hooked it up to his computer it would say "The titanic is syncing"

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
And it costs money, but those engraving jewelry stores at the Malls would engrave names and whatever on the back of the ipod....then it wouldn't do anyone any good to steal it
And what about contacting Apple? Since each one has it's own serial number and what-not and when they are hooked up to a computer it might know it....I don't know if I'm making any sense.

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
I had a similar situation with my sons ipod. Im not sure what the limit is in your state, but $800 may be considered a felony. I would call the parents and explain to them that if the ipod doesnt show up by the end of the day the police will be called and the parents may be held responsible. This will hopefully scare them into talking/yelling at the kids and getting the guilty party to fess up.(This thankfully happened in my sons situation and we go the ipod back) I would then apologize to the innocent girls parents and let them know who took the ipod.(that way they know that it was indeed stolen and you werent just being a mean person) Good Luck I hope you get it back.

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
I agree with the others .. I would call the parents and ask if the iPod was found in their child's things .. we have had things gone missing here as well .. some have reappeared and others are gone.
I wonder if something like this can be covered under your home owners insurance ..you may need to file a police report ... might be worth a phone call if it doesn't show up ..
good luck ..

Re: How dare you steal from us!!!!
I would be livid! I tell my kids all the time to put their things away when they have friends over. They just don't understand that things can walk off.
I hope you get the ipod back I know heart heartbreaking it is for you DD. Also, she should have her music in itunes so at least the music is not lost.
