Sorry forgot about update...

...an officer came to my house and flat out told me that there was no point that it just meant paper work for the officer and they would just put the girls names on file.
My daughther had her ipod stolen she doesn't know who to trust, parents just said that they would keep an eye out for it, we are just full of bad luck

the police report wouldn't solve anything but the point is there would be a record and it might make your DD feel a tiny bit better.

as for it just being paper work for the officer. paperwork is part of the job. he'd just have to get over it!

It you have homeowners insurance you should be able to file a claim to get some funds back for it.
