    Default Hate my FSA company

I hate my FSA company (WageWorks). DH and I are expecting our first in September so we put a good chunk of money into our FSA ($n1,800).

Well, they are a total pain. They try to reject every receipt. I'm always having to re-send them itemized receipts. They won't cover things they are supposed to cover.

We went to the dentist a few weeks ago and had an 88 dollar charge. They have denied this charge!!! Their website says they cover all dental so what the heck!?!! I'm so mad and sick of having to call these idiots. I'm never ever using an FSA again. It is not worth it.

Do they say why they are rejecting your receipts? I used to have WW and never had any issues... Have you tried calling and asking for a supervisor to find out what the problem is?

I have Wageworks too. I know the laws have gotten a lot stricter about them requiring paperwork to substantiate every charge now that's not from a doctor's office or a pharmacy. I have to send in itemized receipts from my eye doctor all the time (because obviously I could be buying just anything from an eye doctor, you know). There should be a reason code when they reject an item...

We used to have Wageworks as well until DH's employer switched. They are a huge PITB -- and so is the new FSA.

    Thanks for commiserating guys :).

Yeah, the problem according to them is that the receipt is not itemized correctly. I have gone back to the dentist THREE TIMES to get an itemization. There is an itemization of what was done, but I guess WageWorks doesn't like that the account balance shows the portion insurance paid too. They said they want a list with JUST the 88 that ran on the FSA card. Okay, that is stupid because the itemized receipt I have just shows BOTH the FSA part and the insurance part. Just ignore the part paid by my insurance. The dentist said they cannot just delete the insurance part of the invoice on my account. The whole thing is ridiculous. I feel like they just want you to give up so they can keep your money.

The dentist office said to have WageWorks call them and that they have never heard of a problem like this. She said she always does the receipts this way and people use their FSA accounts all the time.

Complaintsboard.com is full of complaints about WageWorks doing this very sort of thing. Seriously, the "tax savings" has not been worth the about four hours of hassle this has caused me, not to mention the gas. No more FSA for me!
