Re: "Adults Only" Wedding Reception
I am having my wedding at the local Casino, yes kids can come if accompied by an Adult. Now my kids are in the wedding and some of there friends are in the wedding so I don't see where I can not invite kids. However I am having an after-reception reception at the Bar/dance club where me and my fiance meet. from 10pm -2am, so of course the kids can't go cuz it's in a bar. I am hopefull my own kids don't ruin my wedding I am not so worried about other people's. Those people I know that have very obnoxious kids I just simply did not invite at all.

Re: "Adults Only" Wedding Reception
This is a tough one. The reason being is obviously it is a family affair so chances of having family to watch the children will be hard. Being out of town over night is another. I think that if they wanted a adult only they should also think of the family they are inviting that have children. Not saying that they should pay for it but at least have good references for those that may need it and/or arrange for special rates. I personally would not go though the trouble of spending money on travel, lodging, gift then a baby sitter on top of it.

Re: "Adults Only" Wedding Reception
I just wouldn't go. Send a small gift and card and call it a day. Unless you really are close and really want to see them then it's just not worth the hassle. I don't get the "no kids" thing either but I'm sure some people just want a grown-up party and that's how they do it. Whatever.

Re: "Adults Only" Wedding Reception
When one of my gf's got married, she had an 'adult only' reception but was providing food, movies and a sitter for the kids. Her 2 kids were included in that!! The reception was held at a hotel so the room was upstairs from the reception and any child that wasn't 18 was there to help out w/ the kids.
Inquire to see if maybe they are doing something like that? I totally agree with an adult only reception, but in order to do that I would most certainly make sure to do something for the out of town guests!! Good luck!!
