Awww man! That just stinks that they've waited all this time with absolutely NO communication. Something is so rotten there.
Near the end of February of this year my DH was involved in a car accident. He wasn't at fault, and the other drivers car insurance covered a rental car through Enterprise. We bought extra insurance on the rental car, but that was the only thing we needed to pay.
Fast forward to late Friday evening and there's a pending transaction from Enterprise for $260! Their customer service was closed until today, but we did contact our bank (can't do anything until the transaction actually posts and moves from a 'pending' transaction).
DH calls the Enterprise corporate office, who then funnels him to the local branch, which, I kid you not said "well, the insurance company didn't pay something, so we just charged you, if you were in our shoes you would have done the same to get your money."
What the heck? We've received no communication from Enterprise saying that there was a problem and that they would be charging us for something they are saying the insurance company didn't pay for. Also, come to find out, the insurance we paid for was covered, so we had an $85 credit with them they never informed us about either, which they took off to cover some of the cost of this random charge four months after having done business with them.
Someone at the insurance isn't available until tomorrow, so in limbo until then to find out what's going on there and why they haven't paid whatever they were charged for. All in all, pretty much just got jacked for $260, since it's doubtful the insurance company will pay it now if they haven't before and Enterprise is adamant that they're not reversing the charge.
We'll see what happens tomorrow with the insurance company, but I'll be contacting the BBB and possibly our local news station On Your Side program.
And of course, I've lost the dang receipt from when we turned the car in. Isn't that just wonderful >.<

I pretend tomushrooms. It makes it so much easier to kill them.
ask to speak to the area manager of that enterprise location. tell him/her that you were misinformed and the customer service (they claim they have great service) wasn't up to par. they have a copy of your receipt in their system that they can print off for you so you don't have to worry about that. also mention that the rental agent that helped you didn't inform you of the covered insurance that you didn't have to pay for. if the area manager doesn't take care of it (they can write it off if they want to) get the number to the regional rental manager. that will get it taken care of 100%. HTH!
You can dispute it through your bank, even after it posts to your account....I had a problem with DirecTv a few years ago and I contested a charge with my bank, and the bank reversed the charges immediatley after I signed dispute papers, but did advise me that if they didn't rule in my favor they would take the money back out of my account, but would give me 3-5 days notice....about a month later I got a letter from my bank telling me that the dispute had been settled in my favor.
Good luck and I hope that it all works out in your favor.
