OMG!!! Someone stole over $1k worth of equipment this morning!

My husband started a tree cutting business last year, and has a dump truck, and quite a bit of equipment. He got up around 6 am this morning and went out to get his stuff ready for a job. Well, his rope bag with his caribiners, pullies and 3 of his ropes were stolen. There are tire tracks in the dew and all. Thankfully, he has enough to do his jobs today.

The worst thing is, we live at the end of a long road, that goes past my hubby's gm's house. The way the road goes, you don't know anyone is back here, unless you've been back here before. We are pretty sure we have it narrowed down to 2 people. Hubby's gm rents a trailer out beside of us, and the people just moved out, and we know they've beens stealing from another neighbor. So we are certain it's them, or one of their friends. Hubby is out there with the sherriff doing a report now.

Oy. Well, since you have an idea of who probably stole it, I would think that increases your chances of getting the stuff back. I hope it works out that way for you!

I'm going to call pawn shops this morning, and have them on the lookout for it.

Good luck with that. When my sisters house got broken into, the pawn shop here told her they would not check to see if they got anything that was stolen. They told her to come back in 30 days, see if it was on display for sale, and buy it back from them. . . and the police also told her that was protocol. Our city sucks though... police probably don't even know the protocol.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope they get your stuff back ASAP. Tree cutting equip is expensive and not easy to replace.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I pray you get your stuff back. They will get what is coming to them. A long time ago when my husband was about 12 or so someone stole his Mom's purse as they were walking home. They knew the teenager that did it but couldn't stop him. well 3 weeks later the thief was trying to rob a gas station and the owner shot him in the head and he died instantly.

Isn't there a law against that? Ya know, the one about accepting stolen property or dealing in stolen goods? I thought that one was pretty much across the board nationwide.
