Alright, I can understand that she was driving while the husband was in the car as he has a history of seizures. That's kinda of a 'darned if you do, darned if you don't' scenario and I wouldn't want to take the chance that he would have one while driving.

However, why the heck did they not pull off to the side of the road?! Oh, let's just put the car on cruise control and I'll go ahead and give birth, no worries honey. Come on. That is stupid and reckless not only for yourself but for others and there's no reason at all why they couldn't have pulled over.

It sounds like it happened so quickly. She said she was driving, her water broke, she had a few contractions, and then he came out. I don't think she had time to think about anything except getting to the hospital. I think the baby coming out so quickly was a surprise to her.

I was just coming here to post this! She chuckles about going 70 mph while doing it. I don't care, you have time to pull over!

Yeah, they can laugh about it because everyone is ok, but it could have gone very differently and then it wouldn't be as funny.

OK she so should have pulled over, even if her baby was almost there. What if she would have hit something and stated to spin, what would have happened to the baby? She was laughing as if it was the funniest thing ever. Some people. No matter what happened, if she had time to put cruise control on she had time to pull over.

I hope other women don't try this. But with people these days you never know.

Okay the dynamics of all of this blows my mind. I don't know about most women but I sit on that area when I'm driving so I can see a baby just popping out from down there when I'm sitting on it.
I've had 3 kids and I still don't get it. What did she lean the seat back spread her legs and wha bam? She could've and should've pulled over.
If I gave birth while driving my steering wheel would've been bent in half. It's not like sneezing. Geez

Dangerous for other drivers, dangerous for yourself, dangerous for the baby. Pull over, call someone for help, something. Was there no neighbor or friend or family to call to drive you to the hospital that day instead of driving yourself???

Oh, and naming the baby after the car, ick.

I don't find this story funny at all, it sounds like a driving violation ticket just waiting to happen.

wow - how can they just not realize how bad that could have turned out?

And just turning on cruise control can be tricky!! I was on the highway for 20 minutes today in dh's truck (my van was having brakework done today so I had the truck) and after a couple of minutes I decided that I just couldn't figure out how to turn his cruise control on and just used sbp foot control instead.

And she kept driving with the newly delivered baby on her lap because she didn't know what else to do? Seriously? Pull the heck over would have been my first guess!!

Exactly! He wasn't a small baby either, he was 8 pounds. I just can't comprehend this.
