Anyone catch Lady GaGa on AI tonight?

ok, don't watch AI, so I had to go watch it on YouTube. While I don't get her or particularly like the outfit she was wearing, I didn't see anything particularly obscene about it. No worse than what people wear at the beach.

This reminds me of when people were all up in arms about Hannah Montana poll dancing or some thing like that.

Don't watch American Idol, but I do like Lady GaGa...she reminds me of Madonna and all the outrageous stuff she did in the 80's and 90's. But folks were up in arms about that too....

We never watch the results show. My boyfriend Googles the results later. I'm glad Aaron finally got chopped - if not for Vote for the Worst, I'm sure he wouldn't have made it nearly as far.

I feel sorry for anyone that condones making fun of people that can't sing and humiliating them. I stopped watching when I realized that everyone is screened and the show actually lets people through because they can't sing just for the opportunity to make fun of them and get the judges reactions. Modesty isn't the only value children should be taught.

I'm with you. Public shaming and humiliation is not my idea of entertainment.

I admit I have been watching this season - my boyfriend dragged me into it - but I skipped the first month or so. Once they weed out the terrible and mediocre singers, it's not so bad. There is some genuine talent to be found - Crystal Bowersox has blown me away with just about every performance (except this week, when they were all pretty meh). I'm sure she (as well as Lee Dewyze and Michael Lynche) will do well whether she wins or not, and if not for the show, she'd probably be busking or playing in dive bars somewhere.

My husband and I have started tivoing shows on discovery and different channels just so we have something to watch with my son who is eleven and not cringe. My girls are 14 and not really into tv anymore, computers and texting has taken over (another big can of worms to watch and worry about). My son likes Survivor and the amazing race also, but of course Survivor has to throw in some sex talk and stuff every now and then. My son really likes pawnstars, its a show when people bring in their junk and they tell them whats its worth and such, and american pickers where these two guys tour the country looking threw peoples attics and garage for treasure. So far no cringing on these two show LOL. The Life series on discovery is amazing also for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I LOVE the Discovery Channel. There are so many good shows on that channel!

Okay, I just watched the video on youtube. That is the first time I've heard the song she sang, and I am not impressed. I was expecting something that would make me want to get up and dance. It was hard for me to watch the whole video because it was so slow and boring.

Her outfit was not that bad either. Admittedly, my standards are pretty low already, and I also really like GaGa, but I've seen teenagers wear worse stuff than that. And like PP said, you see more skin at the beach.

She didn't do anything terrible on stage either. Also, I'm pretty sure AI is rated PG or TV-14 anyway. Atleast PG, minimum. If you are okay with your kids watching adults say mean and rude things to these kids, you probably don't care about a half naked chick anyway, right?

The only thing I was truly offended by were those hideous outfits those poor guys were wearing. What do you even call those??

Haven't seen the performance or plan to on Youtube so can't comment. I do crank up the volume when her "Poker Face" plays on the radio-like the beat.

Incidently on May 10 issue of Time magzine she is pictured on the title under the heading "One of the 100 most influnetial people in the world" ??

I am intrigued and will have to check it out.

There was a fake article posted online, I think in the UK??, where it was said she amputated one of her legs as a fashion statement. It gets better though...her fans were saying they wanted to do it too!
