Default need some help..housing eviction problems

Hi everyone Well Im having problems with my property manager at my apt. building. She is saying that I'm disquisting, yes she really did say that. My floors are mopped well swiffered and the rug areas are vaccumed, there are no toys or anything on the floors, the beds are made, dishes are put away, trash was taken out, I do have laundry baskets full, but does that qualify to be disguisting?? My house is completely spotless and I don't know what else she wants from me. She keeps saying that I need to vacum and mop more but my floors are so clean you can eat off of them. Im getting so stressed out about this like im getting migraines and losing sleep and probably going seninal too I dont know. I live in a single mothers program where they help prevent 'homelessness'. My rent gets paid on time and in full, I follow the rules here, Im not like my neighbor and smoke weed in the apt. Im not one of the crazy b----es beating the ---- out of their kids and Im not screwing over the system, Im one of the few here that our actually trying to better our lives. and then the building next door, which is part of the program too has cockroaches. How messy does your place have to be to get cockroaches in or do they come in by themselves?? Last year we had to deal with bedbugs, luckily I wasn't one of the victims. It just seems that they want to get rid of me. i have a housekeeper comimg to do an estimate to come in 2x a month on monday but they didnt want to hear it even though their the ones that told me to get one. On friday they told me that if I dont get this place picked up I can either give my 30 day notice or they'll evict me. They know I dont have anywhere else to go. I just honestly dont know what to do anymore and I need some ideas and suggestions. Thank you all so much for listening to my drama over the past few months, you guys really do mean a lot to me and it helps a lot that I can talk to you guys and not feel judged at all :) Coming on here takes all the drama away for bit until I do my homework, so far in both classes i have A's go me :)

What type of housing is this? I think they're full of crap because they have no right to be walking through your apt under most landlord tenant laws without notice or cause.

I'd start by taking pictures of your apartment in its current state so you have something should you need to document it later. But it sounds like there's more to it than they want you to move cause you don't mop the floor. Unless that's in the contract somewhere specifically, they don't have just cause to evict you.

Its a single moms housing program thats runned by the state. Then all of the girls that live in the buildings have a case manager, from this program, to make sure that we're getting all of the services we can get and seeing if we need help getting a job or getting into school. I had a bad case manager but now I just got a new one and she starts next week. Im hoping with her she'll understand where Im coming from and not make me feel like ---- like my last case manager. Im gonna reread my lease tonight and ill take pics and show them to you guys.

Hugs to you. I don't have any advice.
Did you give us an update about your boyfriend? I must have missed it.
Is he still there & that is why she is upset?

Your welcome. I am so happy for you that all worked out.

About the Apt, it sounds like you are being discriminated against, empty threats being used to intimidate you.
That new Caseworker is coming just in the nick of time it sounds.
I have a sense this will work out in your favor.

I'm going to be honest with you...is it possible that even though it's clean that it smells???? Do you need your furniture and carpet's cleaned? have you cleaned the walls/doors/furniture? Do you keep dirty diapers in the house or do they go straight to the dumpster? Do you have any pets there? Have there been cats in the apartment? Have there been pee accidents anywhere?

I was an apartment manager..and honestly it ususally wasn't dirty things that bothered me...but smelly things did.

Can you have someone come into your home...who hasn't been there before...who doesn't smoke (since they don't smell as well) and tell you what it smells like. When you've been living in a home...and it starts to smell funky...you often can't smell it yourself because your so used to it. Do you smoke? That can make it even worse...since smokers tend to not be able to smell as well. My DH grew up in a smokers's house...and can't smell well to this day.

I can tell you...we had one person with section 8 housing in our complex...and they are super super strict...they probably can evict you.

I agree with the idea of getting a second opinion on the cleanliness--sometimes we don't see what others do. This will probably just affirm your belief that your home is clean enough.

Assuming your home is really as clean as you think it is, document it. Take pictures with dates frequently so you can show that it is clean most of the time, not just one day for pictures. Invite people to your home who can serve as witnesses, people who would seem credible in court. They will have a much harder time evicting you if you have evidence.

This is what I was going to say. Great advice. I might add that you could ask permission OF those people who come to your home if they can be included in those pictures. That way, they can be proven to be witnesses, not just verbally. Also, if possible, place a current newspaper, preferably dated the same day as the photos, in each photo. That goes a long way in proving when you took the photos.
