Yes, it's true, I am complaining ONCE AGAIN about people allowing their sick kids to infect others!

I was on a board once a long time ago when a woman was 'bragging' that her daughter has never missed a day of school...why? because she wouldn't let her. She said, I will not keep my daughter home from school just because she says she is sick. Unless she is throwing up more than once in the hour before school or her fever is well over 100 she is going to school to tough it out. She said she shouldn't have to deal with it just because the child "said she was sick". This made me so mad...I thought you are a poor excuse for a mother.

Back in the day, and this was honestly quite a few years ago, we were not allowed to miss school unless we were vomitting. Nuisance illnesses like colds did not rate.
