Default HUTC about exotic animals in US

This show "killer aliens" is on Animal Plant. Obviously I'm late beause they showed a clip of some hearings being done in washington about it. I had no idea this was going on. I did miss WHO is bringing them in. Is it like really rich peole who get bored and want something no one else has? Some of these animals are from Africa and are messing with the local environment and wildlife. I am not some gaia mother earth hippe type but I still think this is wrong. Housepets are beign eaten by the animals and some of these animals even attack humans.

I'm HUTC about the white tigers that were starved to death in a Chinese zoo. If the zoo couldn't afford to feed the animals they should have made arrangements with other zoos to have them taken there. Humans are not very good stewards of the animals in the world.

I just watched a show last night about people who have deadly reptiles. I didn't catch the first story but it seems to have been about a guy who died in his house and his animals started eating him. The second story was about a lady who had deadly snakes running around in her house (her choice) and she was bitten by one of them and died. The experts said that both cases were "Animal hoarders."

shash i watched that as well. What a terrible way to go. The man had made his home into a "cage" for the animals so they could roam free. the show I was watching called killer aliens came on before that one. I think the show you're talking about is called "fatal attraction"

We watched both of those shows as well. Being a snake owner the part that skeeved us out were those giant rats. Our baby is a corn snake so not exotic, but we chose it because of my son's alergies and asthma.
Those people in the second show had issue far and above the weird pet thing KWIM. As for where all of the "Aliens" come from I think it is probably just younger less responsible mature people buying them and then not being able to take care of them and instead of taking them back to the breeder or finding a new home, they just release them into the wild.(wow huge sentence;) Happens in East Texas with dogs and cats and turtles.
My response to those who ask why do you coupon.
"I can spend my money on toilet paper and deoderant or I can use coupons for that stuff and save my money for a new Burberry. I think I would rather have a cute bag "

Yeah totally irresponsible they should not be just releasing them to a foreign ecosystem.

Big problem with people letting Burmese Pythons loose in the everglades. Once they get too big to handle, the pet stores don't want them so people release them into the wild. The problem is that Pythons don't really have any natural predators in the everglades< except for the Gators> so they are taking over. When we lived in SWFL, there was a picture on the front of the news-press. I guess a 30 ft python and a 12 ft gator got in a tussle. They both died. The snake swallowed the gator and the gator clawed it's way out...it was sooo gross. For the life of me I couldn't tell where the gator ended and snake began. I can't say as I blame the snake...Gator is some good eatin'..'specially with ketchup. Actually I'm kidding, It was ok the first few bites, then there was just this "ick" factor I couldn't put my finger on. It might have been because my friend that was native Floridian told me, her husband hunted gator all the time. And that when he brought them home the amputated tail would be flipping in the bag. So she would have to use some special device to to swirl the spinal cord to mushI couldn't get that out of my head while I was eating it. I'll try anything once, especially if it's battered and deep fried..but no, nuh uh...no more gator for me.
