I was in CVS in January and a lady on her cell phone was talking loudly telling the person whom she was speaking to that she was glad she worked for the government and didn't have to worry about job security!

I'm sorry... I thought we were talking specifically about the P.O. :shrug7:

HA! Just about EVERY.SINGLE.STATE. is having layoffs. And many many many local gov't's too....

I wonder if she has a job that just CAN'T be cut? (and YES... there are some like that!)

Oh, well if it was a unknown person in CVS, that settles it. That *must* mean that all gov't employees are secure in their jobs, never have layoffs and never receive pay cuts.

Maybe you want to talk to some of the people at NASA. I doubt their sentiments are the same as "a lady on her cell phone."

I know right?! One day less of mail delivery doesn't mean less mail period. Work 5 days now and if they cut a day, you're still working 5 days. Mail is moved 7 days a week (w/in postal buildings and on the roads in 18 wheelers) regardless of how many days of delivery there is.

Okay, I was not agreeing that government employees had nothing to worry about. :shrug7: I was just relating a conversation that was said. I'm very aware of NASA's situation, as I live in Houston.
