The Akron Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about a ''National Grocery Relief Program'' advertising survey on local radio suggesting you can get $1,000 in grocery vouchers.
Listeners are prompted to call 800-467-6069 to reach the ''Consumer Advocate Response'' and be signed up to receive the free vouchers.
The catch, the BBB says, is you must give your credit card number. You will be charged about $4 for registering. Then, the vouchers must be redeemed through another Web site, which charges a $2 fee for every $10 worth of coupons, along with a $99 sign-up fee.
If you have given your credit card data to this group, the BBB says, watch statements closely in case there are any additional fees or affiliate program membership charges being placed. The BBB says to dispute any unauthorized charges ASAP with your merchant card service.
