I would. I might even go as far and to make up a sign that says don't shop here Manager so in so is rude and violent or they have bats in their bellfree and picket outside the store.
I had my worst wags experience yesterday! I was in a store I don't regularly shop in, it's just kind of out of my way. I was doing the Garnier so I had to purchase 8 to reach the $20 mark. I am in an isle looking at something else and a woman, the manager looks in my cart and rudely says "you can only buy 3!" I tell her I need to buy $20 worth to get the RR, pointing it out in the flier. She then again rudely replies "well 6 then" I ask her why she is being so rude and she ignores the question and repeats , "only 6, I am a manager and I can set limits!" Tell her I am calling corp and she says "go ahead!" And stalks away.
I go to find my friend and tell her about what happened, telling her I will not give them my money! My friend replies we will see what she says to me. At that point the manager comes from around the corner and says "I am not selling them to you either!" I am so angry I leave the store, leaving my purse in the cart! when I get back in to get it the confrontation with the woman is over.
She told my friend that 6 would generate the RR so she can't have 8. Would not listen about the F&F discount. Holly tells her to ring her up to see, she refuses. they go round and round about that, never getting her to ring her up. She accuses her and "people like you" of scamming the system. When Holly will not back down she turns to an employee and tells him to call the police to have her removed from the store!!
she also spelled her name for Holly when she asked for it to call corp.
Neither one of us ever even raised our voices, she was the one who was causing a scene.
This store had plenty of stock, and it was Friday! we in no way had cleaned the shelves of shampoo. They also had tons of the Dove men's body wash, while the three other stores were low or out. What good does it do the not sell products? What is she going to do with 50 bottles of the stuff after the RR deal is done?
Wondering if I should call corp today or wait until monday.

That would have made me upset too. Doesn't she understand the point of having a sale is to SELL merchandise? How exactly would that be scamming a store? They advertise, you buy, they redeem coupons, it sounds like a win-win to me. I am sorry you had such a rough time. I had an awesome time at Walgreens yesterday, great cashiers. I would tell corp. I wanted an apology for being accused of something. Keep us posted
Raising children(especially teens) is like being pecked to death by a chicken
In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.
EWWWW how awful. I would have bought 6 since she allowed that, 1 per transaction, almost got to the door and said, well I changed my mind I would like to retun these and made her give you 6 refunds, JUST TO BE A B :)
If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!
Did she know already that you were using coupons? So, did the phrase "people like you" then refer to those who read the sale ad and come in for the advertised deals? I do dislike a person on a power trip - and yes, you should call, since she stopped you from buying something that was advertised with a minimum purchase amount in the sale flyer. As a manager, she should know how to treat a customer, and should never walk up and accusingly speak to one as though they are doing something wrong.... sorry you had to deal with this.
A good response to the "scamming the system" would be something like. Can you please explain what you mean? Listen to their response...IF they even respond and then reply something like this.
I am simply buying the advertised product in the amount that is required to get the advertised reward. I am only doing what your company has instructed me to do in order to get the advertised deal. To ME a SCAM would be a store advertising, Buy 5 items, Get $5 OFF! And then when you go to buy 5, the store manager says "I am the manager and today I limit all purchases to 4 items" THAT would be a SCAM.
Next time Take your paper and items with you to the check out....if it says no limits, stand in line and demand they check you out and start telling people in line "the ad says Buy XX, get $ back, I have these items....why are they refusing to do the advertised deal" and be so nice and friendly to everyone, even the people in line I bet it would stir up the shoppers a little bit and let them know the store refuses to sell items as advertised.
I would call corporate today, before you forget how mad you are :)
If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!
I am sure she know we were using coupons as we both have briefcases!
We are also in west Michigan where saving angel started. It is a paid service where you can get a print out of all the deals and coupon match-ups for area stores. Many of the people who use this service do not understand coupon usage or etiquette. So there has been a big back lash on coupon users because of it. Meijers became very coupon unfriendly at one point and I was told by a cashier that's because a woman came in and had a cart heaping full of a free after coupon item. You buy a few at a time as we know but they are all novices and are wreaking havoc around here. This manager even mentioned this service by name when she said you people.

What's wrong with filling an entire cart of items that end up free after coupons? As long as the customer is within the Meijer coupon policies, it shouldn't be a problem!
And that walgreens story made me mad!! I would have called corporate right then and there. That manager is an IDIOT! Aren't managers supposed to be selling as many items as possible? Ummm isn't that how walgreen's makes money?!
Ignorance is bliss! This manager is probably jealous that you and your friend are smarter than her. I would have called corporate right outside the store and waited for a response right then and there. Calling the police is outrageous and she should be fired for this kind of treatment to customers. Aren't we still in a recession? I have several stores I shop at that encourage me to shop sales and use coupons. I even had a CVS employee load my car for me one night and was admiring my coupon binder. Some people will never get couponing and think we are cheating stores.
I had sanity once upon a time I promise. It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it
