Regarding the "under the radar" technique- I've said it before and will say it again- I do multiple transaction all the time, and my store knows what I'm doing. I share my deals and I am always giving coupons and products to the staff there. They love me. As long as you have a good store and you're not shelf-clearing 30 of one item (I ask my store to order me anything I want more than 5 of), I don't see a thing wrong with doing 30 transactions at once. I do it quite often. The benefit is that when I have a coupon that will give me overage- the register beeps and they push it through b/c they know I'm a legit/honest coupon user and would never ask them to do something illegal or against the coupon rules.
Yes, some stores are a huge pain in the rear and if you've got no other choice, you may have to do a little of incognito shopping, but with a good store, it's not necessary.
Regarding the OP's issue, here's MY problem with this- RR's are manufacturer coupons. We get this all the time, which is why we have to have fillers. So if it's a mq, it's just like cash! The store is reimbursed full face value. There is no reason they should say you can't get an rr if you pay with a rr. That is ridiculous.

You're not getting something for free. You're paying for it. With coupons. Which are promissory notes the store will get reimbursed for - full face value. Just like paying with a credit card, or a check.
You buy your coupons in your Sunday paper and they are your property, they weren't free for you. You spend money on ink and paper to print them from the internet and you spend a lot of TIME to put together your weekly shopping trip. You're not getting it for free. You're paying for it just like the next person. Coupons ARE money. And I am SO SICK of stores not getting it!!
*stepping down* sorry. This is just really a hot topic around me right now and I am severely over it.

| Re: Walgreens - No more RR at one store in Houston I think some of these store's turn the coupon machine off. I asked to do 3 transactions in my store, but it was for 3 different set of items (Dove's Men, Vanity Fair napkins, and the Swiffer). I had 3 sets of RR's that I needed to use up this week, and the cashier was very understanding.
Flying under the radar is a little easier for me since there are two WG's on my way home from work. But it is very important that the machine be on. When a RR doesn't print and you bought the correct items, ask them to return them and do the transaction without your RR. If that is truly the issue, use it on a separate transaction on something else you need.
Before I sound holier than thou, though, an asst manager got upset with me because he said I basically didn't pay for the BOGO last week on Schick razors that were also BOGO. I said, "Yes, I got it for free after the coupon." I'm sure he still thought I "stole" it, but it's definitely not the same thing. |
