One values something more when they have less. You also can't treat all kids the same. They do not all have the same mental capacity, and no amount of money is going to improve that. Education is not just about book smarts. It is about learning what you can excel at and what you can do to support yourself in life. Education is not about being better than someone else, it's about bettering yourself.

I fail to see the hypocrisy. :shrug7: | Yeah, with the lack of jobs and the push to "depopulate". How is that money going to get paid? Less jobs and less people means HIGHER taxes or extended payoff, which increases the interest and means more money, that less people can't pay. You either pay in higher taxes now to get it paid down sooner, or you pay later in interest. That's why the Tea Party is angry. Not that they may have higher taxes RIGHT NOW, but that their children and grandchildren are going to be paying off a debt that the citizens didn't even want in the first place.

I for one don't think it should be required to know how to read or write to vote....
That is a slippery slope that we do not want to go down. Bad enough our founding fathers didn't give woman and blacks and some other ethnicities the right to vote...and we had to change that...so nope nope nope. |
The school system is funded by property taxes, not income taxes. |

EVERYONE STAY SAFE !!! |
And the other 75% have been assigned to Obama, Pelosi & Reid.
See ya Saturday!

LOL! At least she'd be allowed to actually speak. Unlike Joe baby.
Like she was allowed to speak during the campaign? Wasn't she the only person to run that wouldn't go on Meet the Press or This Week and never held a news conference when she was running?
I don't care much for Biden either. But he does his homework, he knows his stuff (and he doesn't have to write it on his hand). And you seriously are not saying that Obama is stupid? This man went to the best colleges in our country, was a law professor, and head of the Harvard Review. You seriously can not be comparing the two. I never understood being upset about OUR president winning an award. If you want to be that bitter and partisan go ahead. Even if George Bush would have won it I would have been proud
Now I will not call Palin stupid. I won't do it. She is a fellow female, and no matter what you think of Pelosi or Palin they have large families by today's standards and have been successful in a male dominated career. Good for them! But I do not think that Palin is inspirational (except for her baby Trig, she is a wonderful inspiration on that part), nor do I think she is a political genius. I probably wouldn't vote for her for any higher position than city council. I'm amazed when people think she is smart and completely qualified for president/VP. And I don't mean that in a mean way, as I don't get "hating" someone because they are from the opposition party. I always just want to say, "Have you heard her talk?" "Do you understand her when she talks?" I mean this is a woman who can't take the heat on Meet the Press but will use Facebook instead because then she can't be questioned :shrug7: And when she does take questions it will be only from Fox news who promotes her and coddles her. And even then, again she has to write it on her hands!
I can understand someone not liking President Obama. I get that, but I would be surprised if anyone whether they like him or not could say that he is an unintelligent lightweight. I don't understand the republican party's promoting of anti-intellectualism. I never will. But to each his own I guess. They have plenty of smart people to promote but they always want to pick the person who will appeal to the low info voter. How about going for the moderates instead? |

Lies, red herrings, straw men, pick your cliche-- any apply.
I fully stand behind my opinion that there is a significant racist element among the "we've had enough at this exact moment in history" movement. I 100% own that. No one has refuted that, though. The only replies about it at all have been about how wrong it is to say it or the oft trotted out, "anyone who disagrees with Obama or them librawls is automatically racist, hyuk hyuk." Saying, "but other racism exists" hardly indicates hypocrisy. It just brings up a different and unrelated point. It is also a big fat duh. However, if you want to discuss more elements of racism that aren't Tea Party specific, I'd certainly welcome a new thread on it. We can talk about how not-white neighborhoods are often the targets of unscrupulous businesses and about driving while not-white, shopping while not-white and a whole list of other things are common problems but are not relevant to this discussion--- just like the Margaret Sanger red herring was not relevant. I'm happy to discuss it. Start a thread and let's go.
But yeah-- I still believe you were exploiting the issue with a series of non sequiturs.
