And you didn't know about it? Yes I did know about our financial problems but my husband lied to me and said he had gotten money from his mother, it was taken care of. Well I find out yesterday it is in the paper and I was alittle upset. She told me not to worry what people think that she wouldn't. I am so pissed at her I can't stand it! She talks about me and our problems on her facebook page and then her and her family make little comments I know are directed toward me or about me. My husband had a great job with his father but he decided to play motocross racer and hurt himself not once but 3 times. Now he is unable to work because of his injury and had to take a job that pays 200 a week. We have one car and he drives it to work. I have been looking for work but my area has no jobs other than medical professions which I do not qualify. I would beg plead everything but he would race anyway every weekend. I told her about it and she is besides his mother his boss did they ever say anything to him? No but she tells me i am responsible with him for the mess we are in now. I am thankful his parents have paid this but for me to get the blame of the mess really burns me up! There is so much more I could say about our situation and what I have put up with but this post would be a book at the end. Do you think it is fair that she makes these comments to me but never says one thing to her son? Makes me feel like crap because she is bailing us out but to his face it is "poor'' son blah blah blah!

Wow. I would be livid. If I understand right, your husband didn't actually get the help from his mother as he said, and that is why your house is up for sale?

Id be more mad at the husband and not at his family. I also wouldnt tell his family so much about your personal finances. JMO.

He lied about fixing the problem with the bank. She knows our finances because he is borrowing money from her. She does finances for my husband and father in laws business. Example. when things were going good she still would report us making below poverty so they would be able to draw more social security. We have two kids and have never gotten a tax rebate because she puts it back into business to pay selfemployment taxes. Her excuse for doing this is social security willnot be there when we are able to draw.

Sounds like you need to take the power away from her and take control of the situation. Or you will have nothing and possible problems with the IRS!

And yes I am furious with him. What do I do? I have no job, no money, no car I am kinda stuck. I have no family that can help. I would love to leave but where would I go? I have come to realize he has never cared about me or he wouldn't have put himself first and his family last for the last 10 years. He just tells me to shut up and get out when I talk to him.

I'd be a lot more upset at my husband for lying and saying that everything was taken care of and that you were not going to lose your house. It is not your MIL's fault that he lied to you. JMO.....

It's hard but you can do it. You have to take care of yourself and the kids. You deserve more. Doesn't sound like he is concerned about your housing or finances. Look for assistance of some kind from family or through the government to get on your feet on your own. You can do it, you will surprise yourself!

YOU deserve so much more. Do not sign any tax returns this year until you see the actual forms and how much the refund will be. Then demand half of the refund and use it to GET OUT. You can do it! Apply for public assistance if need be. YOU ARE ON A SINKING SHIP AND IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE!!!
