Crazy exact thing happened at my sisters walmart but the baby was very small like a few weeks or so.
They were in there almost 2 hours and when they came out they told the cops oh they forgot they brought her.
Ugh some people!
Saw TWO women leave a baby in a running car today while they went into Superfresh to shop!
Heck yeah I was furious and called 911! It's amazing we have gotten to where we are as a species.
When we pulled up I made a comment to the kids as I watched the 2 women get out of their car parked in the "person with child spot".
I sarcastically said "Nice they have no kids"
Then I proceeded to park and get M1 out and grab a cart when I went to the other side to get M2 I heard the car running and looked over to see a sleeping baby, ok at least 12 months? because the child was in forward facing childseat, in the drivers side backseat ALONE!!!! My kids at that age could have wiggled out of their seat if they wanted to and let alone be freaked out waking up alone!
Noone looking out the window of the store even and it is a good 40 feet to the entrance, nada!
The Trappe-Collegeville, Pa Superfresh
Was in the parking lot over an hour between the arriving and finishing giving a report to police. Kid was alone for 20 minutes at least until a man walked over and got in the passenger side of the car and of course they left before the cops arrivedSo that makes 3 adults who left a baby in the running car!
Do you mean to tell me not ONE of them could have stayed with the kid???Gave license number, description etc.
Never got shopping ourselves.
The kicker to me as I told the police officer is that we were on our way to meet my Gf's new son who she waited 2 years to adopt from Russia and had to jump through hoops to prove she was a viable parent!!!!![]()

So was the car locked? Did this dude have a key? Did he appear to know the child? Where did he come from?

You should have went in the store and told them to announce on the intercom " Would the two ladies driving the car with lic plate ##### please see the nearest security guard. YOu have left your 12 month old baby alone in a running car."
HEY, they announce at places that you've left your lights on, what would be wrong to make them say that over the loud speaker. Might teach them a lesson!
If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!
Yes Dude appeared to know the child and the women.
"Dude" entered vehicle sat down and waited for women to come out and they left together:(
The women wore scarves on their heads and the guy was a darker complexion, eastern I'd safely guess, the women were a little lighter complected than he.
After "dud" sat down I pulled the van away a distance...to watch them and wait for police who arrived after they left:(
Apparently it is NOT against the law to leave a child in a car here.
It is child endangerment. They will check on the child to see if it is in good health and being take care of (which is ironic because they flippin left him in the car!!!)The cop didn't see it. So he said if anything happens I'll be asked to go to court to say what I saw.
fine
Oh okay I read that as "they" meaning he left before the police came not that they all left together I get it now. Sorry lil slow ;)

Have no idea what ethnicicty or skin color have to do with anything. There are careless folks out there in all races...
While I hate to admit this I have left my children in the car, yes a running car while I ran into say the gas station or the post office to drop something in the slot. My kids are older, and my car lets me keep the car running without a key in the ignition so that I can lock the doors and still have a key to get in and they kids cannot put the car in gear. I can always see the kids in the car and my kids are much older than a 12 month old. I do think 20 mins at a grocery store is much too long to leave a child in the car and it really depends on where you live and how safe an area you are in (realizing that there are bad people everywhere)
That being said I think I would have gone into the store and let a store manager know so that the adults that came with the children could be called to the front of the store....

Ok I knew it posting info about who they were in case they are seen doing the same thing again is futile.
Their ethinicity has nothing to do with it unless someone sees them again at this same store or in the area.
(Believe me I would have had no problem putting that they were white middleaged americans if thats what they were for the same reason.) BTW: The police said they traced the white small suv nissan to the Royersford area.
I stayed with the car for 20 minutes with the exception of just watching the car while I walked with MY kids to the store's sidewalk 40 feet away to check if anyone was by the door and they were not. The entire time I was on the phone with some police person, talked to a few different people, first the 911 operator and then the police he connected me to who took the info and then the police officer who called me back, etc.
I had my two kids with me and it was cold we walked back to and sat in our car and personally I did not feel comfortable walking into the store out of sight of the car and LEAVING THE ABANDONED, RUNNING CAR & CHILD ALONE AGAIN.
I applaud your concern. Most people these days are afraid to "get involved" and would have kept walking. Thank you for doing what any decent PARENT would do.

WOW - I was there this afternoon too!
Leaving a baby is totally unnacceptable!
Like your friend who had to adopt from Russia, We also adopted (from foster care).
People who don't care for their kids (no matter what their color) Make me sick!
So did the lady I saw at physical therapy with FIVE kids (ranging from a few months old, to maybe 5 years old) in a 5 passenger car - Yeah little one in the front seat and 4 kids in the back seat - so at least 2 were not buckled correctly :-(
