Allstate is the worst insurance company in the world - hope you never have to file a claim with them!!

So back in August I was rear ended pulling into my own driveway - totally the other guy's fault - he admitted to the police officer as well as to his insurance company - which is Allstate.

I had to go to the chiropractor for a couple of months and just finished up last month. My spine was bent pretty badly - showed right on the x-rays.

Well, Allstate says they will pay for 2 weeks of chiropractic care and the snotty adjuster acts like she is doing me a big favor even paying that! "It was a minor accident and we really don't owe anything but I will pay for two weeks." I am not asking for anything for myself - just that the chiropractor get paid for the work he did. I told them they can send the check directly to the doctor's office to be sure none of it is coming to me but, no, they won't pay a penny more.

I even called two attorneys after they told me this and they won't take the case because there's just not enough money involved. I do understand that they are not in it out of the goodness of their hearts but I am totally stuck here. I basically am going to have to take what crumbs they are offering and suck it up. I was able to file a med pay on my own personal auto policy so that will cover a little more. And, thankfully, I have health insurance which will cover some of what is not paid but I may still end up having to pay some out of pocket.

Moral is - even if you are not at fault at all - pray you don't have to go through Allstate or you may end up much worse off than before your accident!

Turn in all your medical bills to your insurance company. After they pay for it under your medical payments coverage they will subrogate against Allstate. Your health insurance shouldn't have to pay out anything, nor should you, that's what medical payments coverage is for.

I'd suggest you call around for recommendation of a better lawyers then you've already spoke to.
As I understand your case is kinda cold (happened in August?), but do not lose hope for justice.
BTW, if did you do to orthopedic doctor, MD? Why you ended up with chiropractor, not physical therapy or other "accepted" treatments?

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I had a policy with Allstate with my first husband. He was a horrible driver, and every claim we ever filed was with him behind the wheel. We also had a teenage driver on the policy. So between the two of them, we were paying over $500/month in premiums. When I left the above-mentioned husband, I called Allstate, to have them both taken off of the policy, and start one for myself. They told me that my premium would only be about $50/month...but they couldn't insure me anymore. I'd had too many claims. I told them to check their records. None of the claims were mine! He said it didn't matter. So...I told him to just take me off and start sending the bills to them. He was ok with that. But...then my ex dropped Allstate too...so they sent me a bill for $750, to cover the last 6 weeks of the policy!! WHAT???? The answer was, that my name was first on the policy, so it was mine to pay! It took MONTHS to get that settled!

Have you tried small claims court? If the amount is less than $5000 (or $3000 in some states,) you can file a claim and represent yourself. We've filed a couple of claims on non-paying clients and the fee was $68 in one case and $138 in the other (it varies depending on how much you're seeking.)

Do not think insurance commissioner nor small claims court would do any good here. What OP described is very typical from defendant insurance co.

They might not be able to do anything for her in this case, but they keep data & if they keep getting complaints, someone's gonna get it eventually.

Oh & it was a report put out by the insurance commission in my state that caused me to go with the insurance company I have. Get 'em where it hurts, even if you have to pay the doc bills. Expose their tactics for the next person.

I just want to say that I also have had 2 horrible experiences with All State and I don't trust that company! I will not do business with them.
