Someone stole $800 from my checking account

Somehow they purchased a plane ticket to Sewden. My bank says they will cover all bounce check fees , I do not know how long before I will get that money back. Also the new debit card will take 7 to 10 days . Just what I needed right here at Christmas. Geez!!!

Have you checked your wallet to see if anything is actually missing? Have you purchased anything on line lately with that card? You could have a virus that is picking up your account numbers on line if you have the card in hand.

Yes I just left the bank. They are watching it. It was also purchased in sewden(sp).

You should be able to go to your bank and ask for a temporary atm card while you are waiting for your debit card. It won't have your name on it or anything, it will just be a generic card with numbers on it.

That happened to me the day before Thanksgiving. I don't know where they were heading but it was for regent? air?

A word of warning for everyone who uses credit or debit cards. If you're in a store, make sure to shield your card from other's eyes when using them, including shielding the pin number as you put it into the machines. You should also report this to the police and at the very least get a police report out of it.

If you're using the cards online, make sure to always use reputable sites, never go to sites and use your card if you are not positive that that site is safe and reputable..

I always look so paranoid, but I will put my hand to shield my pin number and numbers on my credit card. I will also ask people to back up if they are standing too close to me. They all look offended, but better for them to be a bit offended than for me to have my money (small amount that it is ) stolen.

In September I had someone purchase train tickets in Sweden with my bank account. My account was essentially frozen for a coupon of weeks while waiting on my new debit card. I got all of my money back but it was frustrating.
