    cvs--Horrible CVS experience

Last night I’ve had a very unpleasant experience at my 24-hr CVS store.

I came in around 11:30 PM Saturday to this store, and around 12:15 AM Sunday I came to registers to ring up my order. I was with my husband. And my friend was also shopping at the same time, and was near registers ringing up his orders.

After cashier scanned my items he tried to scan my coupons, but they beeped, and he called shift supervisor to help him out.
I thought I can help out to the supervisor and I told him that I know why coupons are beeping – because price of coupon is more than price of item and coupon’s value needs to be adjusted. At this point supervisor got really angry with me, started raising his voice, and called me “bossy”. I’ve tried to tell him that I’m only trying to help out with information and save his time, but he had become even angrier. And furthermore he refused to complete my transaction altogether and threw the bag with items from counter to the floor. At the same time he accused me of “abusing system”, told me that “loss and prevention” know about me and that they also know that I own “five hundred cards on my name and they are going to block them”. He also told me that I cannot do multiple transactions. :hectic1:

I do carry several cards with me: one on my own name, one is on my husband’s name, one is on my mom’s name, and one is on my mom’s boyfriend’s name. I do shopping for myself, my husband, my mom and my mom’s boyfriend – because for various reasons they asked me to do the shopping for them and it’s convenient for everybody this way. Plus as I was reading HCW forums regarding CVS policies - it's not against their policy to have multiple cards, as long they are not for my name only (and they are not! :shrug7:)

So after supervisor refused to ring me up, I’ve tried to tell this story to the pharmacist and asked him to ring my order. He couldn’t do it because he needed manager’s key as well, and the supervisor was still refusing to ring me up. While I was talking to pharmacist at the pharmacy area, my husband went to the front registers and the supervisor was ok with helping him out to ring up the order. He also told my husband why didn’t he come over to him instead of me, and they would have a “man-to-man” talk, and when my husband asked him what is wrong with ringing order for “my wife” – supervisor told him that he "doesn’t want to deal with me”.
I feel so upset - like I'm being discriminated because of my gender!!! I cannot believe this is happening to me!

Also at the same time the same supervisor was ringing up orders and helping with orders for my friend, even though my friend had multiple transactions and had using multiple cards as well (his own, his wife and his mother’s). When I’ve asked supervisor what is the difference between me and my friend and why he is helping my friend and not me – supervisor wouldn’t answer that question - he practically ignored me!

I just wrote an email to CVS customer service... I don't know what is the outcome going to be...

I feel so upset and belittled. Never in my life I was put down like this.

That is just wrong to be treated so poorly. I would be going to a different store in the future. I hope you get a quick response on the email.

I'd be mailing a letter to CVS as well as calling too! That dude sounds like he had a bug up his booty.

I find it funny that he wanted to have a man to man talk with your DH, but he obviously wasn't man enough to take care of a female customer.

I guess the proper response would be....so you have NO problem with people who are stupid with their money and don't KNOW how to save money, but because I KNOW how to use the system YOUR COMPANY invented, I am being punished. Most cashiers are smiles and laughing when I buy 40 worth of stuff for 2 bucks and think it's great....he's probably just pissed because he's too stupid to figure out how you do it

I am really sorry to hear that! I'm an employee so I can understand some what of why he was that way but it wasn't your fault. We have people when come in and abuse the system to the finest! For instance I have a lady who comes in every other day (always my shift) and she will buy something with a gift card and coupons 2days later she will return it and demand for her coupons back most of the time her total was very small.. no matter if its candy or $40s. Since we can not give her the coupons back she demands the amount go back on the gift card.. so after all said in done she is asking for money for her coupons. Then she comes in 2days later and does the same thing. It was WRONG for him to act that way but sometimes that one bad apple can ruin it for everyone!=( I would deferentially take it up with the store manager and if that doesn't work ask for the number to the DM(Distric Manager) CVS will do anything thing to make our customers happy we just want to make sure we aren't the ones making the store go broke. lol ;)

Wooow that's definitley not right. I too am an employee and whenever we get customers who have more than one order, we're not supposed to let any hint of frustration show (even if there is a line of glaring stoners behind them)..

If i wasn't working at the time when you said you shopped, I'd say I know exactly who the supervisor was. There's one dude we're forced to work with who is a pretty legit douchebag not only to his fellow co-workers but customers as well.

I'm sorry for your experience... he's probably just being a jerk to you because he doesn't want to face with the lack of manlihood in his pants. Or maybe he missed his bottle and afternoon nap? All sarcastic jokes from a very disgruntled employee aside... there's absolutely no reason you should be treated like that. Ever!

Yeah we've got one like that. It's so frustrating because we know how to do our job. We know exactly what she's doing. yet she gets away with it because she has corporate speed-dialed, so she pays for everything with a smirk and a $50 corporate-awarded gift card. sigh.

    TY for support, everyone!
Cannot stop thinking about this incident, couldn't sleep at night. Just crying all the time. I just hope that baby in my belly doesn't feel that I'm upset.

I've never abused system like people here describe it. Never even use rainchecks. Never return items (to get giftcards for spent Qs). I do carry several cards, but I get only get items by CVS limits in the ad, sometimes not even that. Don't use 15 million copies of quizes from CVS site... etc....
So it's even more upsetting for me to here those words.
And why did he ring up same order for my DH, but not for me? Because my husband just doesn't know why Qs are beeping and keeps quiet? :shrug7:

I don't feel like calling store manager. Because this supervisor told me that the manager "knows about me" - so it basically sounds like a threat :shrug7:
I'll try to wait for a response to my email and see what will happen.
I don't even care right now if they'll forbid me to shop in CVS completely and will close all the cards down - that's how upset and down I am right now.

Oh, forgot to add one more thing. Several weeks ago this supervisor was out (sick or on vacation - not sure). So he was substituted by a nice lady (I think from morning/day shift). She took a good care of me, I think I've had 4 transactions that night - no problems what so ever.
Now, last night, this supervisor told me that she told him that she refused to do multiple transactions for me that night she covered for him...
Why is he lying? Or I don't know who is lying.... Because she did transactions without any problems. She did ask me why do I have so many cards - so I've explained to her that only 1 card is actually on my name, the rest is for other people. And that my understanding is that CVS policy allows is. After that conversation I didn't have any problems. And she rang up all my orders. :shrug7: Don't get it - who is lying here?!

BTW, what exactly is "loss and prevention". What do they do? And why this guy said that they know about me?
