Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
Oh, what an ordeal.
I am glad you didn't need surgery. I did have H1N1, which was like that, but not over so quickly, it lasted 7 weeks with a respiratory virus.
Did you consider stress as well? I know you are attending a vigorous program in College, just finishing finals.
Perhaps it is both?

Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
Thanks for the support, everyone. I am feeling much better today and thank God the kiddo didn't get it. Tummy is still unsettled and I'm still craving a Thanksgiving feast, but I'm much much much better. So weird to have something come and go so fast, yet be so brutal. I haven't had the flu or anything like it since I was a kid - so this was unexpected.
((hugs)) to all - you guys are great

Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
I am so sorry you went through this. I am just reading this. I will be praying for you to have a total recovery and no relapses in the future. I drink tons of water daily and this is one of the reasons. I don't want to ever become dehydrated. You are in my prayers.
Please pray for my family.
Please keep Elizabeth in your prayers. She lost her Father on 2/19/2012.

Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
I am glad to hear you are better. Ironically, I was in the hospital for severe dehydration last May; I left around 2 am too.
I felt sooooooo much better after the two bags of fluid for re hydration.

Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
Last year I had a bad case of food poisoning. I think I ate some chicken that was not done, but anyway, it was horrible. I couldn't hold water down. Everything came up and out both ends. I would not wish that on anyone. I'm glad that you are feeling better. You're not pregnant are you? Just another thing that popped into my head.

Re: My scary Thanksgiving in the hospital ER
My ds had something like that a few years ago. He ended up in the ER with an IV from being dehydrated. They said his was a virus. It was very scary because it came on really fast and he got dehydrated quickly. Never want to do that again.
