Can a store manager keep a Catalina from printing?
I was buying some butter today and a Catalina was supposed to print but didn't because the store had the Catalina machine turned off (purposely, maybe?). When I didn't get my Catalina the cashier called the manager over to help me. He moved me to another register and when he found out that the Catalinas that printed were more than the cost of the butter he said that he was going to "fix it" tonight (as in, keep people from getting their Catalinas tomorrow). Can this be done on the store level? Also, should the store be reported to someone if they cancel this deal? The sign that was up said that the Catalina deal was good until November 29.

I doubt it. I would imagine that programing is done at a much higher level than a store manager. He might put a call into the Corporate or Division Office and inquire about it, but I can't imagine he can do anything else.

Re: Can a store manager keep a Catalina from printing?
When I worked for a supermarket we had to call Catalina to have anything done to the machines. It was usually when something wouldn't print and we had to have them reset the machine. I can't imagine that they would make something not print (especially when advertised) on the say so of a manager. Heck, I remember calling them to have something added into a promo and they had to call my corporate division to get an ok on it.

Is this for the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter at Meijer? The deal has been pulled by the catalina company for 99% of the stores.

It was for ICBINB at HyVee. I went again yesterday to see if he had truly fixed it so it wouldn't print but he had only taken the signs down. The Catalinas were still printing
- if you went to a lane where the Catalina machine was turned on. The lane I went through the other day still had the machine turned off.:shrug7:
