    Default Best Buy Don't Order Anything From!

    I ordered a refrigerator from Best Buy 3 weeks ago with a delivery date of 11/20. I received an email confirming the delivery date and stating a representative would call the day before to let us know what 2 hour window the delivery would be. I called Best Buy the night before, at 9:00 as we had not received a call. The person told me I was scheduled for delivery 11/20, but that we had to call back in the morning to find out what time.

    We called back the next morning, to find out -> there is no delivery time, as Best Buy did NOT have the refrigerator and it would not be MAYBE available until the end of December. Ridiculous - Best Buy had my money and NO ONE in three weeks or even the day before could tell me there wouldn't be a delivery. The representative could not search and find a comparable refrigerator to have delivered. We had to look up 10 models, all of which she said were not in stock, nor could she tell us of any comparable models in stock. The representative wanted us to drive out to the Best Buy stores in the area to find out what was in stock. Ridiculous, I suggested SHE call the stores and find out what was in stock. She finally are noon calls us back with a refrigerator we could have delivered another day. (Mind you we have already taken off work the ENTIRE day, when we should have only needed to take off a few hours).

    She proceeded to cancel our first order without telling us and then wants payment for another refrigerator. BEST BUY already have our money from the first refrigerator, and now I am to give your company double the amount of money to hold onto? We paid CASH money for the refrigerator and now hours later she wants us to take out a credit card to pay for a refrigerator when Best Buy already had our money.

    As far as I am concerned, this is not customer service, this is theft. If we hadn't called, NO ONE would have contacted us. If we never called, would they have just taken our money til we called? We will NEVER deal with Best Buy again.

    I'd suggest you head into the store and try to get it straightened out. I imagine thats where you paid cash for the refrigerator in the first place? It will be easier for the to look up in store and find what they can give you instead (on top of a refund if you want/need one) or you can get your money and go somewhere else.

    We had a similar experience when we bought our appliances there earlier in the Fall. They never told us the item wasn't in stock, and we got multiple phone calls around 10:30 at night from the delivery people-- it was just weird.

    I actually paid online.. for cash, meaning not with a credit card/Best Buy credit card. Actually did go elsewhere, as we had no refrigerator -> Bad for Thanksgiving. lol.

    Best Buy the store, for anything not ordered, fine. Best Buy online.. or ordering.. never again.

    Actually feeling better that I got to rant somewhere. The customer service lady couldn't understand after talking with her and several phone calls why I was upset? I tried to be patient, but after a while it's a little hard. lol

    It's enough to make you feel like you are banging your head against the wall isn't it? I've had other places mess up on orders before, but the customer service "got" they messed up. They didn't infuriate me, and I still do business with them - we all make mistakes. It's the multiple mistakes and people not getting it that drives me insane.

    I would take my business to Lowes or Home Depot, OP. I wouldn't buy from them after they pulled this. I would be so beyond disgusted that it would take 12 billion years for the light from "disgusted" to reach earth!

    I think they all lack customer service! I ordered a freezer from Lowes back in Feb-March. Lowes said they would call the day of delivery and give me a time window - fine. No one called. I waited a few hours and around noon I got them on the phone to hear that they decided that since I wasn't conveniently on their mapped out route they would 'try' to get to me later that day or maybe the next day.. The freezer came directly from the store's stock. The store is no joke 1 1/2 miles from my house. I got the manager on the phone and basically told him if his truck wasn't there within the hour I'd be cancelling the sale. Sure enough I had a freezer in an hour!

    We had good service from best buy when we bought our freezer a few years ago. We had terrible service last March when we went into thier store to purchase a plasma tv. We were given NO SERVICE and finally took our business to HHGREGG, which has AWESOME customer service. We bought a tv from them but when we went back to pick it up someone had dropped and broken it and it was the last one in stock. They gave us a larger(same brand) plasma tv with a 5 year warrenty. We have since gone back and sent others to them and all have had nice things to say.

    Sorry you had such a terrible time and I am glad you got a refrig!

    Sorry you had such a frustrating experience. I'd be pretty ticked too. :sad: I agree with you though on Best Buy - had a nasty incident with them over a computer about 9 years ago. I haven't set foot in their store or ordered anything from them since.
